August 14, 20232 yr Good pubs Not sure about tight knit community Would happily live there but I don't have to commute anywhere and certainly wouldn't want to into Manchester or on the m60 Didn't know Middlebrook was the UK's biggest retail park And Lee Lanes shops are ran by an Albanian I'd move back though Which when you consider I live in the 26th most desirable place to live in the UK is quite the endorsement https://www.telegraph.co.uk/property/uk/britains-50-most-desirable-places-to-live/

August 14, 20232 yr The Bay Horse on a fridat tea time is all I'm saying. Like a creche with parents 3 bottles deep into a bottle of blue

August 15, 20232 yr I will say that culturally, Horwich is nowhere near as diverse as suburbs such as Farnworth, Little Hulton, Deane, Great Lever.
August 15, 20232 yr Its an ace place to live, moved about 4 years ago. Should have moved way earlier. Although.....im on the boarder of blackrod, and its ace. Pubs are decent and couple of decent places for a meal. Take-aways are crap though. The people are decent...a little Village mentality ish, but you have loads of people come in from outsdise of HTown now anyway. Although you read on facebook groups about the amount of crime and it going down-hill....its like a crimeless haven compared to BL1 and majority of Bolton. Edited August 15, 20232 yr by Pablo
August 15, 20232 yr The roads in and out of the place are and have been a joke for almost 2 years now though. 40 mins to get to bottom of Chorley Old road many days, joke.
August 15, 20232 yr Went through Beckenham yesterday and it really reminded me of Horwich, odd mix of shops - huge odds and sods hardware shop, independent butty shops etc Some lovely pubs/bars some total rotters. Difference is it doesn't have the lovely hills, but it did have David Bowie so swings and roundabouts.
