Pubs are decent and couple of decent places for a meal. Take-aways are crap though. The people are decent...a little Village mentality ish, but you have loads of people come in from outsdise of HTown now anyway. Although you read on facebook groups about the amount of crime and it going down-hill....its like a crimeless haven compared to BL1 and majority of Bolton. That's the only Thing that lets HORWICH down Good TAKE AWAYS

Besides, I thought we’d decided Migglebrook was actually Lostock, Bolton rather than Horwich.

Unforgivable. Anyway, I was wrong about Horwich lacking cultural diversity - I was told earlier that an Indian family lived in the flat above the laundrette for 6 months just before Covid. So Horwich is basically New York. Edited August 15, 20233 yr by Spider

The river Douglas separates Rivington, Chorley from Horwich, Bolton. 45 minutes ago, MickyD said: Yes, when @Horwich wrote I immediately wondered if anyone from near Crown Lane would ever nip for a walk to McDonalds, KFC or Burgerking. For ease though, everything NW of De Havilland way is considered Horwich and everything SE is Lostock. Sorry, boring I know.

August 15, 20233 yr Not sure why people are saying there aren't any decent takeaways in Horwich, nothing beats a raw pizza from Night Bar after a good drink.

Haha, way back (25 years ago+ 😭) Nightbar was the only pizza takeaway about, it was rammed every Friday & Saturday night from 10pm onwards. This is when we had 11pm closing.
August 15, 20233 yr The Little Italian at the end of Lee Lane is a premium takeaway. Costs a fair bit more than the average place but is run by an actual Italian rather than a Turk. His calzones are fucking immense and the beef in pepper sauce a proper treat. Folk drive from all over Bolton and Chorley to pick up, and he only opens a few nights a week. A must try, gents. https://thelittleitalianhorwich.com

August 16, 20233 yr Doesn’t the cheaper house prices mean it’s a bit worse to live? Bit like Wigan is cheaper?

Mind you I also took them to Bury market last week, which they thought was the biggest pile of shite ever. As for Bury Town Centre, I don't get what all the fuss is about.
