I'm happy with Oxford's equaliser, Wycombe very much contenders and we've made 7 points on them in a week.  And 7 points on Oxford too.   Could also say the difference between us and Pompey is Re

Anyone else recollecting a rollercoaster 2-4 win at Bradford in Todd's big 96/7 promotion season? Same scoring sequence as last night I think. Great day.

We are probably conceding a goal or two too many just now. 2,1,3,2 in the last four. Hope we can tighten that up a little bit.

Was recollecting that very match after the game last night.

Do need to tighten a bit though.

It'll be an interesting challenge - wondering if Appleton will start with 4 strikers? They have loads of them and are pretty gung-ho.

Just bought another two tickets and the guy at the ticket office said we have sold about 800; with two days to go that seems poor

Sure he didn’t say 1,800? I heard we’d sold 1,400 by lunchtime on Monday.

Just looked at results against teams we played last season and played this season. We've taken 20 points this year, corresponding fixtures last season was 12.

Been doing this myself, mentioned it on here a few times when the neg-heads have started.

I said to him that I had heard we have sold 1200 but he didn’t think that many had gone

Official twitter last week was 1400

Who cares? Honestly. Not at you but why even ask? I’d rather we had 100 there and win than have what ever isn’t deemed poor.

Reading on it seems plenty care ha fucking hell

Birthday celebrations have kept me away over the weekend and last night.

Catching up on Northampton and Wycombe threads - crikey there was some pre game/in game doom mongering! 😂

Some good trends for those of a more positive mind-set

After 13 games

21/22: W5 D3 L5 - GD 0 - 18 pts - (9th)

22/23: W6 D3 L4 GD+5 - 21 pts - (5th)

23/24: W8 D2 L3 GD+7 - 26 pts - (4th, 2 pts off autos game in hand,currently ambitions higher)

Long way to go but still clear signs of continuous progression under Evatt

Some funny stuff off Twatter too

“I’m furious we’re 2 points off the autos. Should’ve won every game, I reckon it’s because Sadlier was a victim of Evatt’s stubbornness”

“But can you do it on a cold Tuesday night in Wycombe?”

Pretty sure it was a Saturday. I remember coaching in the morning and driving over. Could only get in their end, got approached by a Bradford skin-head with a knife!

All adds to the match day experience

try selling it to a young fan with 100 knocking about, my lad was buzzing last night & even more so for Saturday as the atmosphere will be good

You can see Bolton fans in home seats down side of pitch when second goes in. We were sat in that stand.

Anyone know what the sales threshold is before we’re legally obliged to play shit? 😅

I think there may just be a simple inverse proportionality.

Playing shit is determined by an overall ranking of away day using a calculation based on geography, capacity of stadium, proportion of home to away fans, overall away fans and how much we hate losing to that team.  We're well under the benchmark at Charlton.  Playing well and scoring, even in front of the away end, is permitted.

I think shit performances are only compulsory at Blackpool, Wigan, Derby of this season's league games.

Think it must be a percentage as large home gates also end up with shit performances. Think only Sunderland in recent memory has been a good game in front of a big crowd

Wembley was a decent crowd JSL

Based on every previous year at this level we get a big crowd every week.

Charlton was declared an exemption zone for the usual poor performance calculations in about 1977.

That was my first time seeing us win at Wembley/Cardiff so that was the last time a big crowd had a big performance.

Usually it seems we forget to turn up for the hype.

Nah, that was a different one, a 2-2 draw a couple of years later very early in the season. This one was deeper in to Autumn and Per Frandsen/Nathan Blake frightened them to death.

I didn't think the "big crowd shit performance" rule was for home games generally (Peterboro/Forest for eg), more that a full away end, that normally attracts a bigger home crowd too, sees the rule kick in.

Basically a big away following, whether we're home or away, inspires the other team more than us, this is not an Evatt thing its been going on for donkeys years.
