I'm happy with Oxford's equaliser, Wycombe very much contenders and we've made 7 points on them in a week.  And 7 points on Oxford too.   Could also say the difference between us and Pompey is Re

With the London/home counties matches we've always been helped along with a sizable contingent from those areas. Bolton ex-pats. It's the same for the large majority of football league clubs*, the bigger the town/club the higher the London based fans to swell the population of the away end.

*Does not apply to Wigan who once turned up to White Hart Lane with, what was it, 19 fans? Wiganers rarely stray from the town. You can find ex-pats from all the Lancs towns across the south-east but meeting a pie-eater is exceedingly rare.

Whilst correct in what you’re saying I must add in years gone past and in higher divisions it’s always been a steady 800/900 to London very rarely breaking 1k

now seeing 2 consecutive Charlton trips & reading comfortably passing that, must say though that’s across the board for many clubs you wouldn’t think there’s a cost of living crisis for football fans

You forgot good company :acute:

POTD announced - loads of room for late calls

Marc Lies article today talks about our second half performances this season (in an imaginary league where only the first halves counted we'd be 2nd, but if only the second halves counted we'd be 19th)

This could be a thriller then as CAFC fans have been banging on all week about how they never get going at home until the second half...totally set up for a proper "game of two halves"...that both managers will try to prevent :)

I think the cost of living crisis is countered with a post COVID and lockdown "you only live once, fuck it, worry about it later" type approach to life

That is based on me

But I think we've Def seen bigger crowds post 2021

Based on my gut feeling

0-0

This is such a banker for BTTS that I wouldn't rule this out at all

BTTS nailed on!

Bearing in mind he's come 2500 miles, and I'm on a coach, where's the best place to meet Loft, beer wise ?

Discretion guaranteed.

I’d take that after the win on Tuesday - 4 points from 2 tricky aways.

Could really do with a clean sheet too - only 1 in the last 11 league games.

Clean sheets are always welcome, though a win is a win whatever the score.

When we played there in 1993, just after promotion (it felt like we'd "made it" at the time, playing a biggish club like Charlton), it was our 2nd away game of season after 2 draws.  We lost 3-0 and the crowd was 7,573.  Presume at least 1k from Bolton as we'd taken at least 3k to Grimsby on day one.

There was a time in the Prem when that away end, which isn't huge, was split in two with Charlton fans in half of it.

I ended up watching some goals from that era and I forgot Mark Fish scored against us, and in the same match Claus Jensen assisted.  I think Andy Todd played for them that day too.
