Its each to their own but for the life of me I can't make myself want us to win.  That doesn't mean I want us to lose, but if we were thrown out for fielding an ineligible player it would be a shrug of the shoulders.  I might feel different after a couple of league wins this week.

If we're playing it, we may as well try and win. We're so close to the final now, we may as well go for it

100%. Only 2 games to Wembley.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: we should be wanting to win every game - we just need to make sure we’re resting players as appropriately for these cup games.

Guilty.  I could lie and say I'm buzzing for it (as I was in the 80s), I'm just not.

But then I'll be really looking forward to a League/FA Cup 1st round  v Barrow or Harrogate and I come on here and hardly anybody else is arsed about it.  I get it, and I get why folk are up for Blackpool, we're all different.

Being up for a game and not being able to bring yourself to wanting us to win are very different things imo

Fair comment, poor wording by me.  More that I won't be gutted if we lose or analysing the game like I would a league game, wondering if we could have done something different tactically etc.  For league games I'd take an injury or red card in return for 3 points, at Blackpool I'll just be happy if we emerge unscathed for the Barnsley game 4 days later.  In the EFL and FA Cup I would always take the win before anything else, but no problem with others seeing it differently.

Unless we get players in just sack this off, semi finals are slap bang in a very busy period

Looking at the spare midweek dates, the semi final can only be on 20th Feb.  Currently we've got a decent break before the massive (to me) double header derbies at Blackpool and Wigan, if that week becomes a Wemberlee celebration or commiseration we're playing right into their hands.  And I get that we could lose those games any time of year even with a fully fit/focused squad.

That’s the date on EFL website

Both semi finals are televised so it could be the Tuesday or the Wednesday.

In x3.  Much easier this week.  Presumably because a chunk of our fan base actually want us to lose this!

In x7, all very easy this morning for a change!

Aye relatively easy today, good lad @CSW

Not going to be a 5/10 min job this one by the looks of it.

Different story when it’s the league game.

Nice touch with the tokens giving you priority when the league game goes on sale.

people talking like we're guaranteed promotion if we get knocked out

Yes this is a really good point. Nothing is certain. We've got to try and create as many great/fun moments as possible. Now that it's quarter finals, it should get a bit more exciting for people.

Happened to notice that a game in the previous round Brighton U21 v Reading was played at Brighton. I thought the U21 teams were automatically drawn away in this where possible.

Attendance: 990.

It might have something to do with Reading FC being in a complete mess. I'd take a trip to Brighton U21 in the Semi's
