And a real cunt to captain the team.

We need all that for a start but with injuries and suspension double the amounts of cunts .
It’s not happening in one summer window to many contracted players SS will need next season and the one after to  shift them on and mould a side . unless we can do a Portsmouth make Major changes in one window . but will cost millions

If you are saying we have got no cunts but we need double the amount of cunts to cover when a cunt gets injured or suspended then I would agree.

Summer 2025 needs to be the summer when cuntishness returns to the BWFC squad.

If you think that abusing your own players is exactly the same as abuse aimed towards opposition players, it may be that supporting a football team isn't really for you.

Screaming abuse at someone over a football match is screaming abuse at someone over a football match. Of course they are the same.

Worrying about the language kids are hearing because it was directed at someone wearing white rather than red or black is fucking moronic.

I’m still on the fence due to inconsistencies in performance and consequently selection.

But when we’ve had pages of criticism about attitude, desire and passion, I’m loathed to bin off the one player who has shown plenty of that.

That alone means fuck all though, cause I’d give you that 😁.

At his best I’ve liked his dynamism, his direct approach, his delivery into the box, his attitude to work at and improve his defensive qualities, his willingness to play either side and I think his passing and link-up play has been good.

Just need to see more of the good stuff more often.

It's not though is it?

Being in a toxic end where our own players are getting abused and fans are kicking off with eachother is far different from a boisterous away where the opposition are getting it.

It's two totally different environments. The former is an horrendous place to be, especially for youguns.

I don't think there'll be the clear out folk are expecting or seemingly wanting

the following are the ones who's contract expires this summer:

Etete / Murphy / Matete - not coming back either I wouldn't have thought
Santos - be amazed if he stays
Baxter - I'll think he'll stay if offered a new contract and don't see why we wouldn't offer him one
Jones - doubt he'll stay
Coleman - doubt he'll be offered a new one

and that's it

all the rest, unless someone comes in, are staying,  but no idea who if anyone is being put on the transfer list so to speak

I see no reason to try and get rid of:

Southwood
Hutchinson
Johnston
Cogley
Tutu
Forrester
Toal
Forino
Conway
Thomason
Sheehan
Morley
Collins
McAtee

I wouldn't be bothered if these left but woudln't be surprised if no one comes in for them:

Randall
Sharples-Ahmed
Schon
Dempsey
Lolos
Gomes
Nlundulu
Matheson
Adeboyejo

honestly not expecting wholesale changes

a new striker please

and midfield cunt / bastard

but SS is going to have to find a way to shift contracted players on if he's to reshape the squad

That is a massive squad we've assembled there and I can't see many bids coming in for anyone really.

20 contracted players (excluding the 3 youth-ish ones you've added in) which is as bit as a lot of squads in league one in total.

Either way we have to make space to get:

Strong full backs

2 proper strikers (1 of which needs to be able to hold up the ball)

Midfield enforcer

Strong, fast winger

While there’s some grey areas with all of this. For me there’s some clear indicators that take this into an unacceptable category.

If, as we have done, you expose your kids to the away culture, you go through a crash course of education about what you hear/see at the football 😊.

I’ll be honest I’m not a fan of vitriolic abuse per se whoever it’s aimed at.

But the abuse of your own never ends well. Especially when those doing it are intent on frothing over you, being relentless in their pursuit barging over you all to abuse the players the kids idolise.

Fair play to McAtee who managed to ignore some of the abuse he was getting to do this.

Any end where people are kicking off with people stood next to them is a worse place to be. But I've stood in plenty of away ends where people have turned on the team and nothing has happened. If someone has paid money to watch us get twatted and wants to shout 'boo' or 'your not fit to wear the shirt' or whatever... it's hardly the thing that needs to have blokes squaring up to each other over.

A lot of the shit that gets shouted in away ends is toxic and horrible and wouldn't be acceptable in any other walk of life. That's true whether it's being screamed at Stephen Humphrys or Joel Randall. You're deluding yourself if you think its acceptability depends on what colour t-shirt they're wearing.

To be clear, I'm not arguing for perfectly behaved away ends. It's part of the game and on balance I wouldn't change it. But if we're going to get all 'won't somebody think of the children' about language at the football, there's plenty of it going on at every game whether we win or lose.

The Stoke semi debacle was the most toxic I've ever felt it, atmosphere seemed horrible before a ball was even kicked for some reason.

I'm not on about language or kids hearing abuse.

If you can't tell the difference between a toxic away end where the mood is sour against the players and an away end where the opposition is getting some stick then I'm not sure you've been in many away ends.

I'd say you're the one that's deluded and you're just arguing a point for the sake of it.

The environment in that end at Wembley was toxic. Fans were fighting with eachother players were getting smoke bombs chucked at em. That's different to boisterous end like Wigan where their fans and players are getting dogs abuse.

When the fans turn on the players like they did on sat there is always infighting in some form. There was at Blackpool and there was on Sat. There was at Stoke under megson and Blackburn too. Same at Burnley.

Same at Rotherham on Boxing day, same at Bristol 6-0.

The list is endless. When it's toxic it's fucking horrible, there's always aggro and it's totally wank and horrible for kids to be in.

Pick and choose the away matches we go to, done 4 this year, and wanted to do Barnsley but felt it wasn't a great idea with the way we're playing.

Now that sounds bad but I'll explain! I've brought the kids up that away matches are a day out with a football match in middle and that win lose or draw, it's not worth getting annoyed about, we walked out of Wembley and the kids were saying they loved the experience.

But being at an away match and having someone behind shouting out that someone "needs to kill that F****G Cogley!" is much too toxic for my liking..

Some Bolton fans are absolute morons when it's not going their way, it's the same reason why I couldn't go to Wigan, can't risk trouble when there's kids there that know me from work.

That kid shouldn't have felt like that at a game, in our end. I also know that some of our older supporters who've gone home and away for decades are giving thought to the same picking and choosing .

We shouldn't be getting to the stage where a certain demographic dominates and others don't feel it's for them.

This is the problem with most of our squad though, you could make an argument to keep them all because we’ve seen what they can do at some point in time.

Other than 1 in 6/7 matches, Schon has been average at best and like others, I just don’t see what he adds. I was no fan of Randy Williams, and non-plussed about Ashworth but Schon is no better - and we spent a relatively decent amount on him! He was sold as a winger being played out of position at wing back but I’ve seen absolutely nothing that suggests he’s a winger. He’s another nothing player, but he shows a bit of passion so he’s got a pass.

This squad needs absolutely ripping apart, otherwise we’re in for the same nearly but not quite next season.

Talk of players not leaving. No player wants a season out of a team when they’re in L1 because they need their next deal. They can’t afford to just sit there and sulk and take their year’s worth of wage because there’s a bigger chance that there won’t be one after it. If you want a player gone then I’m of the view that SS will have them out.

Does Lolo's not count as a midfield c@@t, likes a bit of pushing and shoving, gets the opposition in trouble then walks away?

TBH do feel we haven't utilised him this year.

You're right about toxic abuse being wrong whatever the circumstances.

Often worse in away ends- the lads' day out.

From a players' perspective, it won't help and may undermine their confidence further.

Equally, they shouldn't be expecting gentle applause neither.

There will always be heated disagreements, even amongst a single set of fans, especially when ale and/or drugs are in the mix.

Shame really; maybe reflects society.

Agreed.

However, he's shit like the rest, and needs to go as part of a total clear out apparently.

He was in Zico's list I didn't disagree with but he's also one I'm a bit neither here nor there about, on the basis he's had limited opportunity to make my mind up.

SS doesn't seem to reckon much to him, and he doesn't come across as having a huge amount of ability, but he is a big enough lad, strong runner, not soft and is prepared to put himself about in the opponents box. The very late goal he bungled in a few months back showed that.

None of that's a very high bar I know but I wouldn't mind seeing him get a bit more of a go in a forward position, he did score a decent number of goals in L2

7 hours ago, desperado said:

You see, I don’t view it as an effort, attitude, application problem. Not under SS anyway, maybe it ended that way under IE.

That’s the first indication under SS of complete and utter under-performance, without there being the other qualities needed to scrap out a 1-0 win.

I think there’s other things more at play to explain away Saturday; players coming back in who aren’t up to speed, injuries, players not consistent enough to perform Tue/Fri, mental fatigue/or permanent mental frailties but more pertinent IMO they are largely average L1 players (who show flashes occasionally of being better) who fall into performances like that. Regularly under Evatt, less so under SS.

Some of them (sometimes I think quite a lot them) under a different manager now, with some key summer signings that compliment them rather than more of the same, can perform to a top L1 level possibly even championship.

So this idea of fucking all the players off, castigating them for an attitude/effort issue (which I don’t think it is) would be an over-reaction and is providing a platform for a frustrated fan base to start turning their anger and abuse to players who currently, regardless of any attitude/effort, just aren’t good enough as a collective.

If this now turns into booing them onto the pitch, you’re not fit to wear the shirt, fuck off out of our club, you set of lazy batards etc. then I’ll be arguing with a few around me as it serves no purpose whatsoever.

They're beyond worth arguing about.

On Saturday, we were laughably bad.

No overreaction at all to have a proper clear out. Only Morley, Dempsey, possibly Forrester for me,  but really wouldn't lose any sleep about anyone else leaving.

Think i'd be gutted to see either Lolos, Randall or Schon leave as it's just not worked out for them.

Think we need a whole new back line though, we've shipped far too many goals,

Sheehan and GT is a wierd one, on their day they are amazing but they just seem passengers at time and I feel as a midfield duo, they're just not right for us, they're not getting the ball up and where it should be, JM and AC aren't getting the service,

Will be a very interesting closed season to see who is sold off cheaply, and who is given extra training..

But SS has inherited a squad of skilled players who can only play in their one roll, and seemingly a plethora of central attacking midfielders that roll their socks down..

Quite controversially (or maybe not), I feel Tutu goes missing at times, and just doesn't have the end product. You can skip past and turn as many players as you want, if they know you wont shoot, they'll let you till you tire yourself our...

Anyway, I thought we needed bastards, not cunts.

What's changed?

I don't think the latter can be that controversial. One goal and two assists in 31 appearances. He's 26 and averages an assist every 15 games across his career.

He'll be perfectly fine as a squad player and an option to bring some pace off the bench. But he's never a starting winger in a team serious about going up.
