Well I wish Evatt or Sharon would be pragmatic and confirm what’s happening, the silence is deafening. Over two weeks now since Evatt said he was considering his future and we’ve heard nowt. I know he’s under contract but in todays game that means very little and I think it’s time he came out and confirmed he’s giving it another go to end any doubts.

June 3, 20242 yr Think he's either working hard but quietly with the board behind the scenes and sorting out his squad for next season or gone on holiday away from all the noise reflecting on his position. Probably the first option. Don't think successful business people like Sharon and the financial backers are taking two weeks off. They will be in full advance planning mode without trying to alert rival teams on their targets.

He actually said: “I will be thinking about everything,” said the manager, when asked what he now had to consider in the coming weeks. “I am a really hard-working, straight-talking guy, and the first person I look at is myself, always. Football is a game of blame, it is a blame culture, and it can be about self-preservation and finger pointing. “But you can only get better by looking at yourself in the mirror and everyone needs to do that. “I need to do that. Every player in the dressing room needs to do it. Then we will think about what is next.” “The summer will be the summer and I will have time to think about what is next. Initially, my thoughts will be on how and why, and just to apologise to everyone. “We all let the fans down, everyone – myself, players, staff – we all have to own it." https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/24330339.bolton-wanderers-boss-future-oxford-united-defeat/ Edited June 3, 20242 yr by Cheese

The question is can he get back to fitness after his injury.. let’s hope so.
June 3, 20242 yr #believe Though we've slipped joint second favourite with Huddersfield on 8/1 to joint 3rd with Rotherham on 9/1 for the title But still second favourites from promotion and top six
June 3, 20242 yr To be fair, I think it's fair enough to read "the summer will be the summer and I will have time to think about what's next" as him considering his future when it's in the context of him previously saying similar a few months before in a pre-match press conference I think it's pretty clear by now that if he was considering his future, the fact he still here indicates he's decided to stay

Wouldn't say what's happened to other teams in the past is the main worry. More concerned about Evatt's inability to inspire the team in big / pressure games (or at half time in pretty much every game), his inability to positively impact the flow in-game, his rigidity to the current system with advanced wingbacks and 2 advanced midfielders that leave us wide open to counter attack, his seeming inability to learn from mistakes (e.g. picking up the edge of the box when defending corners), the fact that we've only achieved so far league positions in line roughly with our budget - and that might well not be enough next season ... there's more, but I'm boring myself now. He's staying, so I really hope he's doing as he says with the self-analysis. When it's good, it's really good. Need to turn those brief flashes / odd games into something much more consistent this season if we want to go up. And he's pretty much run out of 'credit in the bank' with at least half the fan base, so we have to be on it from the off or things could get ugly.

June 3, 20242 yr Sad how we've all forgot how good we played at Barnsley and the atmosphere in the home game. Best limbs since forest and one of the best nights that ground has seen.

A couple of weeks later and there's people reacting to posts about random players birthdays from the 80s era with comments like "wish we had that kind of passion now 😔". Like falling over the seats and invading the pitch just days before never happened.

I agree the atmosphere was electric but it’s strange when you think that we actually lost the game? Who really cared though? 😁
June 3, 20242 yr The Barnsley games summed our season up… 1st leg so comfortable for long periods but give a cheap goal and all of a sudden it’s frantic if Baxter hadn’t made that save different story 2nd leg go 5-2 up no way should they get back into it and if they scored a 4th we wouldn’t of survived extra time
