August 14, 20242 yr Noel Brotherston used to get stick year after year in Bolton v Blackburn derby games: "Yer just a bald headed bastard" Leighton James got stick everywhere he played and usually took the bait. Happened v Bolton a few times. Another winger who got baited and wound up by Bolton/opposition fans: Terry Curran.

August 14, 20242 yr Who was that dirty bastard who played for Chelsea late 70s early 80s I think. He was there captain, played in defence.Played for them when they charged burden paddock when they got on the pitch and he stood there egging them on
August 14, 20242 yr https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/5872980.lawros-hairy-moment/ This is the link for Lawro’s ‘tache and us. He’s a Nobender through and through and always disliked us.

Met him a few times when his sister was landlady of my local, around the same time as the tache thing - which might explain why it's more significant in my mind than it was in reality. He was a proper miserable bastard.

August 14, 20242 yr I was thinking Ron Harris but not sure if he was still playing for them in 83. Micky Droy was. We spent 90 minutes launching the ball up to Simon Rudge,no idea why that didn't work! As said upthread- Chandler's return was a shocker. It was as if the crowd held him responsible for the crap tribunal fee we got off Derby.

It was as if the crowd held him responsible for the crap tribunal fee we got off Derby. Lumping long balls up to Simon Rudge. The amount of times that happened. It was truly unbelievable. I remember pies being lobbed over the Manny Road North fence at Chandler as he took a throw. Pretty sure he had to be subbed that day because of the abuse. Steve McLaren would have been playing for Derby then as well.
August 14, 20242 yr Played against Rudge when he was running a team in Warrington Sunday league. He was about 5’4” and not very good

Was there the first time we came across him at QPR away, 2000ish Along with Iain Dowie warming up on touch line So lots of appearance based abuse went their way Seem to recall Dowie came on for Crouch and that's when it peaked
August 14, 20242 yr Away at Forest... Collymore's big return after injury in the second arf... Brownie got him sent off within 10 minutes... all chanting "Where's your Stanley Gone?" Remember "Bully" used to get some stick as well

August 14, 20242 yr Author He had one over us did collymore. Rinsed us for Southend, twice for Forest and then for Liverpool. Remember him cupping his ear in front of the Burnden paddock. Think we got our own back watching Andy Todd smash his face in mind.

August 14, 20242 yr Redfern... bastard could be out with two broken legs but would always make the Barnsley team sheet and score... he had unfinished business with BWFC after we released him

Not sure what it was about but they were very bitter. Tony Caldwell flattened him when we first came up against him at Lincoln.
August 14, 20242 yr Redfern scored against us at Burnden in our Div 3 relegation season of 87. Doncaster was it? Virtually sealed our place in the playoffs to decide if relegated or not. Celebrated as though he'd scored the winner in the WC. Thought he was a right twat even as a fresh faced 13 yo.
August 14, 20242 yr panto villain suggests somewhat of audience appreciation- who didnt stand up regardless of whether they'd shagged posh spice? i mean... i dont want to confirm or deny any rumours; but i stood up
