Was at that win too.

Moody outside the away end afterwards; the dark exacerbating the situation as whordes of zulu types came charging across the wasteland.

Remember that - they had planks of wood and throwing bricks, bottles etc from that waste ground opposite.

when we scored the third a load in the seats to our right upped and left - waiting for us outside.

To be honest, as soon as I heard to roar, and saw the vague shadows emerging from the gloom, I rapidly fucked off to the travel club bus! :)

Walking across what seemed like a nice grassy bit before the game and had become wasteland by end of it, the big Zulu chant went up. We turned round and walked back to road, just followed the road round the side and got back to our car without really seeing anyone, then just drove off.  Do not think we spoke a word till we got out of Brum.

Also went to a game when Phil Brown played up front ! We got beat but went game with a lad I worked with who was a 'massive'  Blues fan. We walked up from the centre and he did not know where the ground was. After game on bus with a bunch of their fans, none of whom looked friendly he started taking piss out of me over the result ! Again I never spoke.

After the cup game was with Chief Siggum and his lad, parked just round the corner, me and Yoof got back to car, others nowhere to be seen, so I went to find them. Told Yoof to keep his head down and be quiet, got back he was lay on grass next to car singing Wembley songs !

I still say that the first game with trouble at Birmingham was a set up by the police. When we got there ,they directed the coaches to a car park to the left but the vans and cars over into the streets to the right.

After the game & in the dark , all the police went off to the coaches on the left but left the rest of us to walk over the wasteland into an obvious flashpoint. There wasn't much small talk till we were safely away 🙂.

We were in a mini bus on the other side of the wasteland, when the chant went up I joined a queue for hotdogs and kept my mouth shut as all hell broke out around me, was nearly as bad as the Boro night game when they opened the gates and all you could see up the dark terrace streets was 100s of Boro waiting under the street lamps, not one Bolton fan took up the challenge so the police closed the doors and cleared the streets before they let us out.

Been twice

Once when they opened the new stand behind the goal and had Jasper Carrot on the pitch telling 'jokes' before kick off

Boring 0-0 and a midday Sunday kick off

Another when Eidur got sent off and we lost, can't remember the score though

I honestly don’t understand the selection today and it’s a good job they were shite.

if we start that team/formation on Tuesday Brum will murder us particularly with Cogley as part of the three.

Dempsey and Schon get special shout outs for me but the jury is out on Schon. Alright going forward but too lightweight going the other way.

I think Evatt needs to accept this new formation is a load of shite and leaves us absolutely wide open to the counter and drop it. We’ve looked much more comfortable and threatening reverting to the 3-5-2 over the last couple of weeks.

May be controversial but I also really have no idea what people see in Mcatee or what he offers, another 10 games and he’ll be bench fodder.

It should be 2 up top for me, the physical presence of Vic with one of either Collins or Charles. Collins for me.

Cogley was undoubtedly at fault for the goal and a regular centre back is unlikely to make that mistake, but I thought he had a pretty good game overall, albeit it’s a different kettle of fish on Tuesday. Not sure it’s one to chuck in Forrester after so long out.

I’d argue Santos / Schon were equally if not more at fault. Completely unaware of what was around them, left it for each other, hesitation and no one taking command of a threat in our own box. Cogley was a couple of yards out and last ditch, made an attempt to clear which could’ve gone anywhere. Unfortunately, it came off their man so it was inevitable where it was going to end up.

Was just thinking a more experienced centre back would have been a better job of twatting it anywhere other than against the attacker

Don’t think there’s any reason why Forrester wouldn’t be in on tues. Will be tough enough with round pegs in round holes the way we are defensively..

Who would you prefer there; Cogley or Forrester?

Latter for me.

If his legs weaken later then fair enough; can shift Cogley over if necessary.

As a natural centre back then Forrester is the obvious answer but there must be still a question on his fitness or I’m sure he’d have started today

Fitness for 90 minutes I agree.

If he is so unfit that he can't manage 45-60 minutes, then it's a risk putting him on the bench- you'd be a bit concerned that he'd break down again if he had to come on.

I think the large majority will back their negativity by not turning out for this. They’ll be happy to back their judgement that this team, Evatt and Bolton Wanderers are not worth the inconvenience.

However there’ll be a couple of thousand pie in the sky optimists that reckon we have a chance and are looking forward to the Tuesday night big game of two massive clubs.

I don’t think it takes much guessing which category I’ll be in 😁

That's all spot on apart from the McAtee comments. He's a quality player and will work well for us in the front 2 rotating with the other 3 strikers.

Where he doesn't work well is in midfield, which is where he was playing today. He wanted to go too high up the pitch (not surprising given he's a striker) and it left too big a gap between defence and attack.

Also, in defence of Evatt, I think he was trying to play 352 today, but he's not worked out you can't put a striker in midfield and expect him to do what Dempsey does in that more attacking role.

Nope. If Cogley is playing RCB over him he needs to be looking for a move

Apart from their goal - which was standard League 1 farce - Cogley did fine in that role today. Actually thought him and Randell linked up quite well with their cross overs.

If Forrester were match fit, he'd have almost certainly have started instead
