No fit midfielders would of thought Johnstone plays there then forester santos jones at the back

Tomo and Lolos presumably 2 midfield starters, plus one of Arfield, McAtee, Sharples-Ahmed.

If Johnston plays midfield that's 2 positions with square pegs in round holes (the other being whoever plays left CB).

Matate is replacing Sheehan in front of the back 3 so mctee or Lolos can’t see those two playing there but yes forgot about the other 2 you mention airfield needs to start doing something soon . Johnstone as played midfield before albeit no often in is career

What’s up with Matete - genuinely can’t remember?

Is he injured or banned?

banned

                       Baxter

           Jones.  Santos. Forrester

Williams.  Sharples.  Tommo.   Schon

                        McAtee

                 Charles  Collins

If it was me I’d be going 4 at the back, but pointless wasting breath/words/time on that.

I’d like to see Forrester keep his place. But I also want our best defender (Santos) to play. So hence Forrester LCB.  I don’t think Santos/Johnston works for whatever reason.

It’s the only time I’ll probably ever say it, but there’s a case Thursday  for Arfield with our omissions, but I can’t bring myself to put him in there, so let’s throw in Sharples-Ahmed.

Mcatee against his former club and our best two strikers please.

I thought I read that after “game 19” (Wigan?) the rules shifted and that the 5 card threshold no longer applied.  Two game ban for 10 yellows by Game 37 is next?  This might be nonsense of course……but if true he may still be available for Barnsley.

Game 19 was Wycombe, we have played 19 games now. The fact he was booked for a decent tackle makes it feel worse.

Game 19 would have been Wigan if Bristol Rovers hadn’t of been cancelled.

Wow, that’s a massive U turn. 😉

Real men can change their opinions. 😉

I still think he left in a cuntish manner, but we need some cunts in the squad.

Agreed 😉

Any win will do, and any goals will do.

But I'd love us to take the lead in the 1st half.  Since 1st April we've scored 8 first half goals at home - 6 of them v Reading! (also Collins v Pompey & Jerome v Shrews).

None except v Reading this season; last year we'd scored 15 first half goals at home before Christmas.

Would still take a 98th minute winner off Lolos's chest though.

These sold many?

Can't see them doing more than the top tier

Hopefully we fill the bottom

Can't see Barnsley fetching more than 1500.

Not a prayer we'll sell all the bottom tier.

Agree with every word of that. Just hope we turn up mentally this week. We looked frightened of our shadows v Wigan and Barnsley has been a bit of a rivalry for us the last 2 seasons.

On paper, I think we have the better team, and I think/hope we'll react. 3-1 win

You can’t seriously leave Johnston out just on the fact he’s the only left footer we have. If it was anyone I’d drop Jones and play Forrester instead.

Johnston has been very poor for a couple of months so I would drop him

2-0 for the Whites

GJ has been a major disappointment of late.

On his day, he reads the game as well as anyone we have at the club, but he has been awful recently and was very timid v Wigan, got rolled badly for the second goal.

Set up isn't helping anyone whatsoever. I don't think the players are comfortable with it, and their confidence levels aren't where they should be.

Johnston wasn't any worse than the rest (low bar, I know) till Mansfield, when the bonkers experiment with the inverted wing backs made him look panic stricken. He didn't look like his confidence had recovered in the preliminaries v Wigan

GJ has been particularly poor and for me needs time out !!

Hopefully the recent 1 match ban has reenergised him as he’s probably our best out and out defender when on song.

Toal and Tutu available.

CMG presumably an option.

Their fans think midfield and away games are their strengths.

Interesting.

I wonder what our strengths are?
