I’m amazed there’s no thread. No pre-talk of ticket sales, no enthusiasm for our next 3pm Saturday away game.

What’s up with you all? 😂

A lot of folk keep banging on about how crap this league is but as Northampton showed, there are no mugs in this league so we have to bring it every game.  I just hope we do regardless of who the manager is.

If so, Reading 0 BWFC 2

When we were in this division under Parky i remember being shocked at how utterly shite some teams were in Lg1.

The football and quality of teams in Lg1 has improved immensely since then - there are no easy games, the managers & players are much savvier than they used to be at this level.

In. The bug is back.

Is this game a "must win"? Only just realised that Reading are just 3 points behind us with a game in hand and are very much a direct rival. Lose and we could slip down to 10th again playing catch up. Win and we keep pressure on the top 6 with Orient and Stockport who are immediately above us playing each other. If Stockport win that we'd climb in to 6th for the time being, although Orient would still have a game in hand and a huge GD advantage. We could also do with JDBs Burton and Blackpool doing us a favour.

OK not a "must win" seeing as it's February, but results going our way could really level the field for our run at the playoffs.

Pressure on a few teams near the top this weekend.

Not must win but would be good if we did

Ideally not lose

lost 3 on the spin these, we need to keep the momentum up

Our shit GD and teams with games in hand on us is a worry but good results this weekend could go a long way towards levelling that out.

Has their exodus begun yet? Seems to be predicted every year yet never actually happens

nope, they seem to have kept hold of most of their players. Don't think they have signed any mind

I think there are a lot of very average teams around the top this year and I include Wycombe and Wrexham in that so to be still so close to the top six despite our appalling form says we shouldn’t worry about losing to any of them. We’ll win this now the players are being allowed to express themselves and build confidence.

Only speaking for myself obviously, but I'm a long way from wondering what the other teams are doing.

When we beat Huddersfield, it was great to see us playing to something like our maximum, what Stockport and Orient were doing never entered my head.  I just want to see us turning up for games again, especially the tougher ones of which Reading away is one, I really don't care what's going on elsewhere, just want a bit of hope, where there was none under IE.

I think the big thing now Evatt's gone is we don't automatically assume we can't win the big away games. Or the play offs.

That's my thought.  Getting to the play offs under IE was something to fear not relish (not that it would have happened anyway).

It doesn't seem such an impossible task any more, especially seeing how bad Huddersfield were.  And if we do get to the play offs, hopefully we won't have the arrogant "favourites" tag, whoever we play (although if Orient are in they'll be able to play the Oxford role of unfancied minnows).

Imagine missing out on the play offs to Stockport, on GD. The 10-goal swing in that game alone.

Hopefully we thump them 5-0 at home.

I'd rather not think about it.

We won't catch up on GD so we need points.

And what do points make...........?

Why not?

We're going to have to go on a very good run, which will yield positive GD.

If that involves some victories over those above us, then the swings start.

As Reading town centre is dire and there is diddly squat in terms of pubs near the ground, a few of us on here are doing what we normally do for Reading away and meeting at;

The Victoria, Norcot Road, Tilehurst RG30 6BP which just happens to be my local! Open at 12 and food available.

10 mins from station and 15 minutes drive from the ground, football buses from round the corner and cabs leaving about 2.30pm for kick off.

All welcome!

We had a belting time in the one near the station at the 7 1

Bare boards floor

Whats it called?

I remember that day.  N'gog scored when we were in there! Three Guineas.  Gone all posh now.  Rugby fans only and bloody expensive

Expensive for Reading or expensive for Bolton?

Right, who is the new man picking for this?

Can see Murphy getting a run- especially as SS has seen both the recent games.

Siren Brewery tap bar is 5 minutes from the station.

I’m sure that folks off here can afford it.
