Pubs and Pints.

1. What's the best pub you've ever been in?

2. Tell me what's good about your local and how much is a pint.

3. What sticks out as your best pint moment. After the birth of a child? Celebrating promotion? Curing a hangover?

For me.

1 .A pub I found in Berlin. Was snowing outside on a dark Winters Sunday night.  Fires were roaring and the atmosphere was ace. Proper cozy. Love it.

2. Absolutely love my local.  Sunday afternoon is perfect. Busy and atmospheric but not rammed like a Saturday tea. Decent Sports/Vaults ares for the drinkers. £4.80 for Moretti, £4.20 for driving lager.

3. Me and our call a life saving pint a 'Yeovil'. As we'd been up all night in Yeovil after our 2-2 draw. The drive home was probably the most horrendous car journeys I've ever had. We got in the Golden Eagle and words cannot describe how good that pint was. Proper Terry Waite tackle.

Nobody actually wants that pint.

Has to be past 10am for me.

I know you did. Airport pints are just a way of passing the time and marginally better than a walk through duty free perfume, duty free chocolate and knicker box.

Stiil never lager though, even after 10. That stuff goes straight through. You'd never be off the plane bog and woe betide if you get the wrong side of the crisps and butties trolley.

The best and most satisfying pint for me is usually the one I shouldn't be having.

Called into Rochdale on the train to sort out my car repair. Lots of phone calls and broken promises forced the face to face confrontation. It worked and getting some extra work done as compensation.

Anyway, pleasantly surprised with Rochdale and the area around the Town Hall and church. In the Flying Horse now with a nice pint of Brid’s Cross Pirate Queen. Lovely. Might try the one next door as well.

Edit. Walked in and then out.😊

so waited in the bar

by the time we checked in at the hotel early afternoon i was ready for bed

Aye it's minging. Obviously you're not just stopping at one. Probably get away with it on a stag do, remember getting to Benidorm once at 11am and was 10 pints deep. Horrendous.

Even shitter on a family holiday to Lanzarote. 3 pints in at 8am and clucking like Renton and Spud for more.

Get there and family want to go exploring and all you want is a beer.

Flying Horse is good. Get yourself to the Baum next time, mind you it's a bit of a walk. Rochdale's surprisingly good for a pub crawl.

A dear do ?

I also went to nrb thing with work. Might be on my own here but it felt like a load of people who pretended they liked being in pubs as opposed to actual pubs.

I had a great giggle- mix of legit business folks, punters, and pissed up sales reps rubbing their tits against me; female ones too

Been invited to a wine do next week of the back of it

After a nip to Elephant and Castle and 'Spoons this afternoon, both pretty quiet,  I walked past Northern Way. Shout-eoke appeared to be in full swing. Fuck me, it was loud.

2. I am just a local yokel but the Ukrainian Club on Castle Street is my place. Good ale, good people, good vibe. £3.60 a pint for cracking beer. Members only so no riff-raff. There's a reason why it wins Club of the Year every time.

Northern way may be one of the worst boozers in town.

For anyone who hasn’t been, Wunderbar in Ramsbottom is a great bar. Food and drink a spot on and the the lad who runs it is spot on. I’m trying to convince him to open one near me or town. No joy yet though

Always been a great place.

I’ll say.

Going back to pre COVID pre retirement days I used to call in N.Monkey across the square most days about 4 o’clock and I loved it. A few old blokes drinking beer , nice and quiet.
Fast forward to COVID and Monkey doesn’t open until Wednesday, it’s a far different pub now and NWay is just noise.
