1. What's the best pub you've ever been in?

2. Tell me what's good about your local and how much is a pint.

3. What sticks out as your best pint moment. After the birth of a child? Celebrating promotion? Curing a hangover?

For me.

1 .A pub I found in Berlin. Was snowing outside on a dark Winters Sunday night.  Fires were roaring and the atmosphere was ace. Proper cozy. Love it.

2. Absolutely love my local.  Sunday afternoon is perfect. Busy and atmospheric but not rammed like a Saturday tea. Decent Sports/Vaults ares for the drinkers. £4.80 for Moretti, £4.20 for driving lager.

3. Me and our call a life saving pint a 'Yeovil'. As we'd been up all night in Yeovil after our 2-2 draw. The drive home was probably the most horrendous car journeys I've ever had. We got in the Golden Eagle and words cannot describe how good that pint was. Proper Terry Waite tackle.

1. Best pub tough one but I think given the number of great random nights it has to be the pride of spitlefields on brick lane. Always used to go when down for the rugby and it was always a good night.

2.  Peter Kavanagh’s is my local at the moment or “Rita’s’. Great local pub with some lunatics and great people. The dogs love the barmaid and she’s mad a fuck so it’s a win win. Pints about £4.85 I think.

3. Best pint for me has to be after my first marathon in berlin. Sat freezing my sweaty tits off drinking outside. Very enjoyable

1. The Laurel in Robin Hoods Bay

2. Don't go in my "local" as the miserable sod doesn't let dogs in

3. In the Laurel, landlord doesn't let children in the bar but okay with dogs... a trendy couple came in with their rug rats and complained, he told them "I have to put up with kids at home and I aint putting up with them at work".. loads of tired dogs piled up and steaming on a damp day on the rug in front of the coal fire

1.   Klosterschanke in Bad Homburg, Germany. Best ale, sensational and genuine medieval atmosphere, good food (even though it's mainly the usual pig and potatoes).

2. A good local is hard to find here as I am sure Perth White will agree. Prices through the fucking roof too.

3.  Sweetest tasting pint (or three) ever for me was at the Royal Arms in Tockholes straight after we had clinched the old Division One championship and beaten Bastard Rovers on their own shit heap to do it.

1. Tower bank arms in the lakes. Usually get there after walking all day with the dog. He's crashed out while we enjoy the excellent beers and food.

2. Haven't really got a local anymore.  The bar under the north lower? £5.20 a pint.

3. "Proper Terry Waite tackle" made me laugh.  More celebratory one for me. Post Wembley v Plymouth. With family and friends, all buzzing and the beers flowing.

1. Best pub I ever went in was on Prague on the outskirts. Was a few hundred years old and felt like a proper medieval tavern. Fire on the go, loads of roast meats you could buy and the lager was sublime. And about tuppence a fathom.

2. Local I’d plump for the brewery bar in Horwich, Black Edge. Beer is bang on, the idiot count is always very low and no tellies. I like a chat in the boozer rather than gawping at football. Average about £4.50 for a pint of ale brewed on the premises.

3. best pint I ever had was a pint of Wainwrights just after we completed the 3 peaks challenge. Drank 2 pints one after the other and they barely touched the sides but by Christ they were divine.

1    best pub Back in the Day was the   MORRIS DANCERS

2    my local go to one now is B33R  in Horwich £3.40 a pint   you can do 10  for £34

3    90% of the Pubs in Bolton Town canter are Dog Shit Now

1. Prague. U Provaznice for me.

2. Don’t have a local. The Brooklyn is now a school.

3. I’m with Bolty. In fact I was probably rubbing shoulders with him that night and didn’t know it.

I don’t think I went in any pub in Prague and dislike it. Adore that city.

Probably the best time of the year to go. The Christmas markets will be on and with a bit of luck, you may get some snow to complete the seasonal feel.  I went in December 3 years ago and it snowed for 3 days solid. It’s not always that way but fingers crossed 🤞 (that’s if you like snow😊)

I know you see a place through rose-tinted specs when you’re there for a break, but it genuinely hits the sweet spot as a city for me.

Perfect size for getting around. Centuries of well preserved history, feels safe, looks amazing and the beer in particular is just the best I’ve ever had.

Beautiful place and the people are pleasant without being over bearing or stand-offish.

3 Tough one - few I could think of - in a bar in Kentucky for a wedding sat with old mates thinking how the fuck did we all get here ? Holiday in Turkey played football v the staff in Olu Deniz free pint for winning paid for the next half dozen, Any first pint of a London away day, pint in Madrid airport waiting to meet folk before Athletico away , I just like beer.

1. Hard to say but loads in the Lakes, Old Dungeon Ghyll years back was ace with the old pews as seating.

2. Don't have a local anymore. My old haunt was the Green Barn, some absolute characters and some ace nights had in there over the years.

3. Probably the Sun, Coniston. Only because the missus hip went halfway walking back down the Old Man and I had to help her down for well over 2 hours. Then my knee went and we were a right sorry state for the last hour or so. Got back to the car park and stopped at the first pub, no idea what beer it was but it was nectar.

1. Fureys Bar, Moyvalley in Ireland. Best pint of Guinness I’ve ever had, amazing food and lovely folk. Been countless times

2. Nowt good about my local. Not been since lockdown when the landlord left. City pub. The worst type of Massives go there. The “you’re a dickhead for supporting Bolton” type. Can’t say I go to any other pub nearby either other than a Lees place that is more for food than ale

3. Pint of Guinness in Manc when the boozers first opened after lockdown. Kielys Irish Bar. Decent pint. Tasted like nectar

I quite like Guinness btw :D

I’m having a second go😊

1. Dun Mare in L/H. The first pint I ever had.
2. As I have a second home (caravan) Waddington Arms in Waddington. Can’t beat a pint of Pheasant Plucker. About £4.20
3. Still with Bolty in Tockholes 1978.😊

Kin ell, I worked on the canal tow path down at the side of there back in 92 .
best pint of Guinness in MCr is in Sam’s chop house by the way ,I preferred it to Mulligans

best in Ireland , from a very tough competition is either the Grave diggers in Dublin or Taaffes in Galway, though I’m only part way through my research so may change 😄

local in Bolton is the Tansy Green , drink Theakstons bitter in there and not even sure how much it is tbh but think it’s around 3:80 ish and a very good pint .
Nice enough local most of the time but occasionally the dick head bat signal must light up and a few swarm on it from time to time

First pint of Guinness I ever had was in a small village somewhere outside Dublin in 1970. We went as a young Catholic group from Little Hulton/Walkden and stayed in a University that was closed for the summer and run by monks.  We were supervised by priests but at bedtime (no, it’s not what you think) we snook out and went to the local pub.

After ordering our said pint of Guinness, we sat down and before we could take our first sup, one of the Priests walked in. Looking at us he just said, in a very Irish accent “you’ll just be having the one lads”

It was neither a question or instruction.

We left 5 mins. Later.😊

Edit. We were 16.

Beat guinness I’ve ever had was in one of the temple bar pubs.

In fairness, if they can’t get it right then it’s a poor do.

Guinness are the masters of marketing. They’ve got grown men “splitting the G” and some of them aren’t even gay

Not the best, but the Harbour Bar in Bray Ireland always sticks in my mind. It's been done up now, but when I first called in years ago there was a sign painted on the harbour wall just saying 'Best Beers' and an arrow pointing to the pub. The pub door was open and the barman said 'we're not open yet but you can have a pint while you're waiting. I only wanted a parking permit but I finished up with a pint.
