Pubs and Pints.

1. What's the best pub you've ever been in?

2. Tell me what's good about your local and how much is a pint.

3. What sticks out as your best pint moment. After the birth of a child? Celebrating promotion? Curing a hangover?

For me.

1 .A pub I found in Berlin. Was snowing outside on a dark Winters Sunday night.  Fires were roaring and the atmosphere was ace. Proper cozy. Love it.

2. Absolutely love my local.  Sunday afternoon is perfect. Busy and atmospheric but not rammed like a Saturday tea. Decent Sports/Vaults ares for the drinkers. £4.80 for Moretti, £4.20 for driving lager.

3. Me and our call a life saving pint a 'Yeovil'. As we'd been up all night in Yeovil after our 2-2 draw. The drive home was probably the most horrendous car journeys I've ever had. We got in the Golden Eagle and words cannot describe how good that pint was. Proper Terry Waite tackle.

2. I am just a local yokel but the Ukrainian Club on Castle Street is my place. Good ale, good people, good vibe. £3.60 a pint for cracking beer. Members only so no riff-raff. There's a reason why it wins Club of the Year every time.

Good ale in there like you say. I call in for a couple most days ont way home from work. And, only 7 quid a year membership.

That's a great price

Our local village club, this time last year was £3.80 a pint (across the board, Guinness, Cider, Lager, IPA etc) - that price is now up at £4.50 a pint (again, across the board)  -  and we've been told that due to the increase in staffing costs and utilities, we'll see another rise to £5 a pint from April.

It's an expensive do now going out getting pissed around here. If we ignore the Spoons in the local town, then the pub I choose to drink in, is around £6.30 a pint now :(

Bar on site here is £3.50 for Carslberg, Italian piss (Moretti, Poretti, Peter Bonetti or whatever), Shityard IPA & Somersby Cider. My Guinness is £2.70, but it does come from a can.

Do they still have a serving hatch selling bottles of bud?

Believe it or not, I've never been in The Balmoral, and I've been in loads of shithole boozers in Bolton.

Balmoral is posher than Northern Way. I’d go in Balmoral but never again in Northern Way. Northern Monkey is good but weird opening times.

I was in The old three Crowns on Saturday , first time for years .  Jesus H Christ , that was an experience

then into Brass Cat , ( as was ) fuckin hell they’ve ruined that place, reminds me of a bar you’d get in a holiday camp type place.

I dare say I wouldn’t be watching it at work if Saturday is anything to go by ?

I drank in the Balmoral until they tried to turn it into a karaoke bar & previously in the Shep, New Zealand & Griffin but even I feel uneasy in the 3 Crowns.

I’m going to defend Northern Way to an extent here. Admittedly it’s not often we have a drink at home games, but when we do it fills a nice gap between the chaos of a Spoons breakfast and before Northern Monkey opens.

Clean (at least at that time of day), cheap, plenty of tellies and the lager is always lively because there’s plenty of it going through the lines.

Another in defence of the Northern Way........Pint under £3. Wall to wall TV Sport. Feet not sticking to the carpet

, never been in after 6pm.....Sunday Afternoon town is not a bad afternoon out

Three crowns  will be the next Peter Kay project

My Uncle Jim (Doran) had it in the 90's... used to stop there when I was working in Bolton, he still charged me full rate though!

And no fucking wonder. If I had  a stick that's where I'd be.
