  • It's depressing that this comes as no surprise whatsoever. Hope the cunt is banned for life.

  • Good work out. So glad we have a real manager now. A real purpose to what we are trying to do

  • I'm not saying he should be sent to prison, you fucking moron.

McAtee has certainly upped his work rate since last season and in the absence of a striker did well IMO.

SJM said that McAtee had lost best part of a stone in pre season.

11 lbs. 5 kilo.

Well done but, seriously, a professional sportsman, training every day, this shouldn't have been there to lose.

Favourite comments from the PNE fans forum meltdown:

”We’ve scored one goal against Chorley, Tranmere and Bolton - we haven’t even got out of first gear this preseason”

”You’re assuming we’ve got a gearbox”

”It must have fallen out somewhere on the M6”

Wingers breaking with pace, very exciting. Goalie great feet. Conway, impressive. Macatee, lighter, fitter, not really much better.

Striker would be nice?......

Also, so, so much quicker.

Tippy-Tappy is dead. 🤪

New decent striker for all these cut backs from the wingers getting in behind and we might just do something this season.

Will never tire of beating nob end pre season or not.

Did CMG show the true promise people on here have made up ?

He is not going to be a starter; but can do damage coming on as sub

McAtee's really sharpened up his pointing this pre-season. Introduced a wider range of hand gestures to his game as well. Impressive.

We were promised improvements this season, and it sounds like he's delivering.  But its one thing doing it in friendlies, can he maintain these standards when the serious stuff begins?

didn't do much today.

SS was giving him the opportunity preseason to prove his worth. Other than the Orlando Pirates game, don't think he's looked up to much.

Be interesting to see if there's any movements out before the window closes, but not sure we'll keep all 3 of CMG, Schon, and Desmond.

Worryingly, he seemed to tire second half. Very little pointing and literally none of the impressive wafting from the first half. Time will tell.

In fairness, he ran around a bit.

Like it or not… I reckon he’s starting next week. We don’t need to nail our colours to the mast (which I know is hard for WW), let’s just see how it plays out. He either surprises us and produces these positive glimpses we’ve seen over the last few years in his sporadic performances more consistently, or he fades away and ends up being replaced by one of the others in waiting.

If so then Gayle, Schon or Tutu are there to take up the mantle.

Don’t think we need to write off anybody before the start of the season.

I’d keep all of them, lots of games and injuries all over likely

Did he fuck.

I think it'll be the 2 new lads ... unless he wants to hold Gale back to unleash him 2nd half.

I always think back to 96/97 being so bad that any good pre season worries me😂

Spot on though.

Absolutely.

Don't want us to lose, even a friendly, but it's just seems that a good pre season historically doesn't equate to a good season.

Probably total bollocks, but just seems that way.

Can't do the confidence any harm though.

Only saw the second half, and was impressed by the pressing from the front.

Lawrence does appear to need a loan spell, but from what I saw, I didn't feel McAtee was greatly effective neither.

Certainly isn't stamping his authority on a starting role.

Not sure what Challinor will make of that other than to double up on our wide boys.

Kick them into row Z that’s what will be the plan they will have to be strong enough to take it league one football

Robust and Dynamic.

Conway did really well and he won’t come up against much tougher physical players like Offiah and Small every week. Last seasons loan looks like it’s really benefitted him.

Aye, didn't get in until 20 mins had gone - there was a good 500 behind us.

It was a fucking farce. We got there in the queue at 2:30. In just after 3:10. Only 2 turnstiles open at first for North Stand, but at least q was moving.

The q started at turnstiles nearest west stand and was back to near club shop.

The grandly names Turnstile Manager started telling people near the back to go round the Queue to use the turnstiles which basically caused a bottle neck.

They ended up opening up the extra bit of the stand as people did not have seats. At half time as the end block was shut you could only use the toilets near the west stand.

@Horwich was on the gates so assume he was to blame

Poor form is that.

At least delay kick off if you haven't got enough staff on duty.

Anyway, how many were on (eventually)?

On the game…not much happened first half thought they looked a bit quicker and more physical than us.

Second half we played well, they had 1 chance. The wide lads provide good options to move us the pitch. McAtee worked hard. Everyone knows it but really lacking a presence up front. Hopefully gets sorted.

We did look solid though. Surprised we did not make changes earlier.
