  • Don’t normally post personal stuff. Yesterday was a tough day taking my mum & dad to various hospital appointments. Life eh. Didn’t get a ticket as didn’t know what time we’d be done. Got back hom

  • We get an equaliser in injury time , a centre forward who has not really performed since he got here rather than celebrating he gets the ball to get the game restarted quickly. Great attitude.

If it's up to me, i'd go forino and forrester with taylor at LB and cogley at RB. Love forrester, he's a warrior and was all over it at huddersfield last year.

Id have Taylor in without a second thought

ACD was shocking at Burton; no better than the dreadlocks fella

Don't think he's been at the races for a while tbf. Not quite all his fault like.

I also love Forresrer

I'm not sure about him in a two though

Never gonna know until he gets his chance, with two bigger lads either side (forino and Taylor) and a bit of pace either side too.

I always had us down as more of a chance here than fakin burton.    And its not a football snobbery thing but I genuinely beleive that our lot are spoilt with the stadium, facilities etc that they are used to playing in and so when it comes to northampton, burton etc is it then a psychological thing ?   Fak knows but you can bet we show up tonight.

I reckon the team won't set off until tomorrow.

I dont think they will show up tonight! Tomorrow maybe!

Wanderers will welcome back Eoin Toal and Josh Sheehan from international duty and both players should be able to slot straight back into the squad, having featured only sparingly for Northern Ireland and Wales, respectively.

Toal needs going back in

For who? Not to displace Forino, surely, and he’s always struggled, when tried at left centre back.

Dont know why you think Forino as been crap?, player of the season up to now for me!

Fully agree on both Taylor and Forrester. Let’s hope Will is back fit soon.

really? it's a low bar and we're not exactly difficult to score against

Id go with Toal & Forrester when he's back, ideally i'd like to see a overhaul of the back line though

Schumacher said Forrester's been chomping at the bit for a couple weeks.

If Forrester's fit and ready I'd like to see him back in. His injuries really haven't helped him cement a place and convince everyone of his worth, but in the runs of games he's had he's shown me enough to suggest he's every bit as strong a choice as any of our others.

The Wycombe away game last year, arguably one of the best defensive performances under Evatt, was one where he was particularly good.

I'm wondering if that's based on our performance at Huddersfield last season, I think we're all clinging onto that hope.  But we've lost at bigger grounds aplenty in the last 14 months: Charlton, Brum, Rotherham, Reading, Barnsley.

Last season we won at small grounds like Crawley, Northampton, Stevenage, Exeter, Shrewsbury, Burton - scoring 17 goals in 6 games compared to 3 in the same number of games so far.  Our infamous inability to win the big games has now become an inability to win at any away grounds!

Anyway our only 1-0 away wins in the last 14 months were at bigger grounds as it happens, Hudds and Wigan, that would do tomorrow.  Preferably 0-0 at H-T, take the lead 2nd half, not too long to hold on.

I like Forrester too, but I'm not calling for him to play as it might mean him being on the left, I certainly wouldn't drop Forino, I'll trust SS to make the right calls there.

Considering Forrester hardly played last season, here's a stat:  We kept 5 cleans sheets away (3 wins, 2 draws) and he started 4 of them.  Cogley was the only ever present unsurprisingly.  Johnston also played 4 (but plenty of games we lost with him playing), the other non strikers to play 4 were Tomo and Schon.

Toal, Santos and Forino only played one each (Forino did OK at Wigan).

So with Sheehan available I would go

TSL

Cogley Forino Toal Taylor

Morley Simons Sheehan

ACD Forss

YJB

At the back no real issue if Cyrus Sylvester Fredrick Christie is ahead of JDC, or Taylor at Centre Half and Conway at LB. But think Conway might benefit from a break

Have hardly seen Taylor play but something needs to change

Note that Sheehan was back training yesterday so hopefully time to try something

Morley and Sheehan in the same midfield scares the bejeebus out of me.

Weak

But better than just 2 in there ?

Only other option is one of them with Simons (Northampton) or the other one with Simons (Burton)

I wouldn't either, to be fair, he's been our steadiest performer across the back up to now

If we're going to win some games away the opponents not scoring would be a start. Sort things from the back first.

All makes sense and I wouldn’t be disappointed to see that line up.

Think I had Tutu, Christie and Conway in there.

I think there’s justification for quite a few players, including some in neither of our sides such as Johnston, Miller even Mcatee if we go with a 10.

Tactics and formation wise, other than an extra midfielder I wouldn’t be massively changing much, as I think the personnel changes and extra Midfielder will sure us up. And the wingers are our most creative option in attack.
