Seem to be letting a few in away, when is Forrester back ?
not sure why we tried burstow in a different position against burton, needs changing back for this

And more importantly, he needs to turn up in an away game, like everyone else.  If Simons plays to his usual standard away, we'll lose.

In all 4 games that we've won this season, Burstow has scored and Simons has been excellent, I'm not expecting us to win if either of those things don't happen, what position they play within reason is secondary.

If it's as poor as the Burton one it'd be entirely justified.

We will see Thursday when he puts the team sheet in.

Here’s my Football Manager perspective on what needs to happen away

Get Erhahon and Simons together as quickly as possible

If not them two through injury then two proper midfield shields

Do this with a number 10, so there’s protection and a link up

This hopefully might bring out the best of Simons. Like the Simons we see at home

Don’t be too quick to dismiss the 4-2-3-1

Or the wingers.

I actually think we don’t need to go too drastic with tactics/formation changes

Don’t start with 4-4-2

But be prepared to change formation and continue with proactive subs when needed

Get back too giving away less offensive opportunities to the opposition

Get back to effective forward passing possession

Win first and second balls

There we are. Done. Sorted.

Huddersfield 0 Bolton 3 😂

If only football was that simple.

First away game of the season. Was looking forward to it until yesterday's result.....

But, come the day, and a few beers in with the LL Legend, and I'm sure there'll be some positivity....

The Terriers 2

The Trotters 3....

Burstow, Forsssss & Forino...

They might be; Sheehans Wales game is tomorrow night so he could be available and might not even feature like Toal

It’s a good point.

If neither of them start again, or feature a little or get no game time at all, then surely they should be made available?

This Thursday night game would feel like a double punishment for them.

Under normal circumstances, regardless of how much game time they had, they’d be available to play the following Saturday.

Even if they play a full 90, Monday night to Thursday is only like Saturday to Tuesday.

I suppose from a BWFC perspective it’s whether SS and coaches feel they’ve had enough prep.

My two pence worth, Acd and Burstow possibly the two best players in league one, midfield 5( including Acd) and Taylor in at centre half. Back to basics , start with a point and make sure it’s the least we come away with.

I thought the rules were if you were called up you are not available during that break ?

Happy to be wrong especially as they get so little game time.

Isn’t it the first week and weekend game that players aren’t available? But for the next game, which for most will be this Saturday, everyone’s available aren’t they?

All the prem players will play their next game today/tomorrow but will be available Saturday.

Does ours moving forward Thursday make it any different from an international break perspective?

I get it, if BWFC make the call to omit from a lack of prep time.

If we had 3 called up it would have been off so assume technically it is in the window.

If Sheehan is back him coming back into a 3 makes sense but please not in a 2.

Assuming Erhahon and Gale are still injured, and Sheehan can come back in

TSL (just about)

Christie Forino Taylor Conway

Sheehan Simons Morley

ACD Burstow Forss

Massive back line, 3 genuine centre mids, pace up top.

If Sheehan can’t then I’d bring Randall in, as the lesser of the evil of having Cissoko on the left with Forss central. Or if Des is fit then put Forss central with him on the left (although marginally less in midfield with Forss in the 10 rather than Randall).

Randall doesn't even merit a place in the squad. Did nothing again yesterday when he came on. If fact, when has he ever done anything.

It wasn’t my preferred option.

But if EE is still out and Sheehan not back, then we’re looking at the best of bad options (unless Tutu is fit like I said, then he can go left and Forss behind Burstow)

Bizarrely fancy us here.

It's not games like this that'll fuck us.

I said similar to my brother in law coming from the game yesterday , I think that kind of pitch and ground will suit us .

It helps that Wales are at home, and not having to travel back from Kazahstan or wherever which might put his return back a day.

I think the key for SS will be when Sheehan's back training.  If we had a game on Monday, the players wouldn't be training Tuesday, so I'm guessing Sheehan's not going to be training before Wednesday.  Prep for Hudds probably starts tomorrow, I'd be amazed if Sheehan started with one day's prep, he'll probably be on the bench unless SS has fallen out with yesterday's midfield that much that its a case of dopping as many as he can!

Obviously, there is a debate over the readiness of our youngsters, bit SS did say we would look to use them.

If we only have Saturday's two available to start, then SSA surely has to be given a place on the bench.

Next cab off the rank etc, and if something was to happen to one of the starting pair, I'd rather have a round peg for a round hole.

Not another midfielder going to right back type scenario.
