Port Vale (H)

What could possibly go wrong? Despite Darren Moore’s assertion that they are better than their league position suggests, all the signs are that they are there for the taking on Saturday and I can’t imagine any of us would not be disappointed with anything less than 3 points, especially after our recent heroics.

As the old adages go, it’s 11 against 11, any team in this league can beat any other team on their day etc etc…but we don’t want to think about that do we?

What we want to see is an improved performance, a professional attitude, a clean sheet, goals and a statement win that sets us up for the theoretically tougher run of games ahead.

Bring it on.

Results couldn't be going better for us right now

Classic demonstration of the need to score when you’re on top and they had 5 shots, 3 OT before we got out of bed.

Their high press had us on the ropes for half an hour but the goals changed everything and they were forced to drop off and give us a bit of room to work with.

Not sure if Moore has anything up his sleeve for the second half but surely he’ll be telling them to come out and have a go at us?

Our focus has to be riding that out without conceding and then pushing on.

He'll probably bring on 4 strikers and leave a load of space for us to just pick them off

They can have a point.

Time for Dempsey on for Randall - much better in a stretched game.

What a finish!

On course for a superb day of results here.

And there you go. Mr Kyle Dempsey.

That’s what a ‘#10’ in our setup should be doing - well in Demps!

…..With a massive swing in goal differences (+7 atm) which will do us a power of good.

Rate we're going, everyone will be in the rear view mirror.

Certainly didn’t- couldn't- have envisaged that today.

And with such a big goal difference swing.

Best in the league now too.

Just imagine if our away form had been a touch better!

Really wish we were playing next week.

What a day!
Started so badly and turned into a thing of beauty.

Only fly in the ointment for me was Randall who has had so many chances but still doesn’t impress. What a contrast when Demps came on, putting himself about in midfield, winning the ball, playing some decent passes and topping it off with a well taken goal.

But results elsewhere only emphasised what a tight division this is and how we can never get complacent.

Loving it.

Yes, scored a goal more.

Port Vale had the first 25 mins and deserved a goal or 2, but from them on it was a deserved win, I thought Cissoko did a lot of good today, but with his stepovers it's not proper fluent, ACD did one second half and with pace and forced a corner from keeper, I just would like Cissoko to do his tricks a little more quicker, he clearly can take a player on and his cross led to the first goal, so it's only a nit pick today, Randall was not in the game at all, Burstow was quiet but played a part in 2 goals.

Dempsey in the 10, Gale to come back, given the points we've dropped when we should have won earlier in season, we are in a good space right now, 2 points of top, who we should have beaten in that first half on opening day, so we've taken more points of other teams than them, which is a positive, Bradford come to us next out of winning form.

I don't know what ACD's ceiling is, but it's not League 1, 2 goals, 2 assists and I wouldn't say he was our main focus of attack at all today, he just as that wow factor, he's truly awesome.
