Port Vale (H)

What could possibly go wrong? Despite Darren Moore’s assertion that they are better than their league position suggests, all the signs are that they are there for the taking on Saturday and I can’t imagine any of us would not be disappointed with anything less than 3 points, especially after our recent heroics.

As the old adages go, it’s 11 against 11, any team in this league can beat any other team on their day etc etc…but we don’t want to think about that do we?

What we want to see is an improved performance, a professional attitude, a clean sheet, goals and a statement win that sets us up for the theoretically tougher run of games ahead.

Bring it on.

They used to travel in numbers

2k not bad considering

Sure they've only sold 1400 so far why on earth do they need more?

Yeah sure I remember being shocked at how few they brought either last time or time before.    They're a lively bunch on their home patch !

Never mind the Uruguayan/Argie meat gravy fest. With Stevenage being offski, this  game has suddenly taken on additional importance as we really don’t want to be spending the international break in the doldrums.

Three points to sustain us please.

Top half of the away form table though (fuck knows what some of the later stats on that page prove).

League One - home and away tables

Not a bad side on their day so we shouldn’t underestimate them. They’ll keep it tight and make it difficult for us so I’m expecting at best a narrow win.

A bit harsh re last time as they'd been relegated the week before 😀  The match was a total dead rubber for both teams.

In Feb 2023 they filled the top tier so probably about 2k, it was just after we'd got to Wembley and we weren't at the races, a bit lucky to come from behind and 2-1.

Yes but we are top of the home form table - second highest scorers (after Cardiff) - we shouldnt be considering anything other than a comfortable 3 points

I’ve watched em twice on telly this season and they’ve looked ok but very vulnerable at the back. Darren Moore probably right with his comments about form being better than position suggests. Doubt SS will have us underestimating them.

Decent away form to be fair.
