The team just looks like it had no chemistry at all. Playing passes the other wasn't expecting, over hitting it, looking worried and way too passive. Looked like a first pre season game. Sch

  • So poor that today. Limp, weak, no intent, no drive or desire to score. A touch too many, poor decision making and absolutely wank final ball. Not a shot on goal, fuck all created, slow

Pretty sure other teams are on the same boat. It’s up to you to fire them up. We haven’t played well in any of those 4 games.

Down to 6th in 15 minutes since you posted this.

Wasn't two wins in 10 to start the season a dip? Or back to back away losses to Northampton & Burton?

When does our dip for the season end?

Yes we have had two dips in half a season you can’t afford to do that for top 2 . You  would have to go on a massive run from now to end of the season and turn a appalling way record around while doing it

What do you think is broken about it other than players not executing? It's a 4-2-3-1 with inverted wingers, it's not exactly rocket science, plenty of teams up and down the country playing the same sort of way and having success.

It's all about variation, too little and it's predictable and easy to defend against.

Our entire game seems to be this. Ball to winger, winger cuts inside and X. It's soooooooooooooooo basic.

summed up that performanece when Shehhan could not even pass around the ref

Sheehan was outstanding again, maybe dropped off a bit 2nd half, but he's quality and was still driving us on at the end, he's on a different level to any other midfielder.  To think it looked like his days as a regular starter looked numbered at the start of the season with the new signings, well he's seen them off as "competition" easily.

We have almost the biggest and youngest team in the League what's he complaining about with tiredness, it's not like we're alone.

Not sure that the "best 11" would be achieving much at the moment.

Teams have learned how to play against us and nullify our strengths.

Swapping personnel on top of that compounds the issue, as any tweaks aren't getting time to gel.

When he first came, he talked about more flexibility and pragmatism, but we're not seeing it.

Players looking a but lost and rudderless.

One thing is for sure- fans won't be as patient as they were previously under Evatt, and I doubt the board etc will be.

Some home truths to be said perhaps.

Don't think anyone wants to see the manager gone but overall, his record since taking over isn't good enough to fulfil the board's wishes.

It's interesting that all our strikers are out of form. You'd normally have one but none of the strikers look like scoring at the moment

It's only just over 5 weeks since we played really well in a top end of the table clash with Bradford. The regression since then has been alarming and, based on the last two games, shows no sign of being halted.

I had that Bradford game down as our worst of the season before today!

Not claiming we were great v Mansfield but we were much better than the toothless one v Bradford IMO when a goal was never coming and we couldn't claim any penalty shouts etc, and let's face it they were as average as everyone else.

The number of goalless home games are mounting up now especially as the Cardiff win/goal was so unexpected and late.  Without that it would be 4 home games out of 7 with no goals, as is its 3 out of 7 and that's unsustainable when added to how toothless we are away from home.

We can no longer say its just our away form that is bad and we are now every bit as bad as we ever were under IE.

He needs to decide his best team & when fit & available fckg play it.

Players should be selected on merit or because of an injury not because its their turn

Anyway, touching distance.

Still only lost the same number of games as Lincoln.

They should start giving the same number of points for draws as wins, that'd show the doubters.

Having Prime Messi, Ronaldo and Lewandowski woudn't make this system work.

I actually feel bad for the players forced to play such a broken system.

Well they would be fine whatever system. Tbh it's not the system, plenty of teams play 4231 in this way with inverted wingers. But it relies on an excellent player in the 10, like Odegaard at Arsenal, to buy space for the wingers to cut in, and playing fast through the middle and wings.

We don't have that 10 and we play far too slowly irrespective of the system. A 433 would help, but the style of play needs to speed up and we need to start mixing up crosses, cutting in, and playing through the middle.

Fuck off, Steve.

Mansfield have got nowhere near the squad resources that we have and beat Barnsley, us and Bradford in a row. Own it, we’ve been shit, don’t start making excuses about being tired

Which means Barnsley and Bradford are also shit.

Tbf you could extend that to pretty much the entire team. Don’t think you can make much of an argument for any of them being in-form.

Couldn’t have asked for an easier set of fixtures over the period if he had picked them himself 3 at home and one away in South Yorkshire no injuries to boot .
If he thinks there tired now what will they be like by the end of jan the busiest month .  Could of played the Stevenage game when we were in form now having to travel there in Jan

However you want to dissect it and whatever opinions you have, this is piss poor and renders the good work and results v’s the teams around us pointless.

It is piss poor. But it's far from being a crisis.

You cannot have Cogley, Forrester, TuTu, Simons, Morley, Firino, Forss, Dalby, McAtee, Gale, Dalby and even Vic not selected and then complain of fatigue

The inverted wingers are not working and the ponderous walking out of defence by Toal and Johnston hampers us

SS complaining of players being tired wait till the end of January they will need a month off to recover.

We will only stay in the top 6 because of postponements.

He was fucking criminal today, as bad as Santos at his worst for walking out of the box, waving his arms, flapping then going sideways or back to Miller. Him and Johnston killed any tempo and were still at it in injury time.

The whole side was scared today, scared to run with it, scared to play a first time pass, or even a second touch one.

Yes it was too slow.  At Doncaster it was Forino that doing the Santos impression.  I agree we've regressed in terms of slowing the game down.  Miller managed to pass it back today, I can't remember the last time I saw a keeper pass it behind him!

The biggest concern for me other than all of the needless rotation is the lack of a plan b. When he came in, I recall a couple of occasions where he completely switched the formation and tactics part way through a game, we seem so rigidly stuck to this system this season and that’s our downfall amongst no consistency in the starting 11. Everyone knows what we’re going to do and with the laboured passing, it’s relatively easy to defend against.

First half today, it seemed as though we may aswell not even had a 9 or a 10 as everything goes down the wings. There is absolutely no flexibility and it’s simple to counter especially as most teams pack the central areas.

Last season, we were all saying constantly that 2 in the middle doesn’t work as we’re outnumbered in the middle and what’s changed? Nothing.

SS needs to keep his cool and get some new blood in. We need to slim the squad down, get rid of Dalby, Randall, Cissoko, Taylor, Forss, Morley, Forino. They all offer nothing. I’d keep hold of Mcatee, I think he could offer something.

We need a new CM with an engine and some experience, two new full backs and two new strikers. Job done.

We then need to find a way to get the wingers and 2 strikers in to the starting lineup.

No he gets big bucks to work out what is going wrong......Last two starting 11s have been woeful

As others have said we are being found out. Easy fix is Go 4/3/3   only play one of the wingers and bring in Jatta and Keillor Dunne but that will cost north of 3m

Think putting Mcate upside a proven goalscorer may work so that would mean a 1m outlay just to bring someone like Jatta in

Carrying too many at the moment both Evatt and SS signings

When McAtee is a possible answer we know we are fucked

He still managed to get 11 goals in a shit show of a season

At the moment he’s our best chance to score some goals as the rest are useless.
