Wycombe Wanderers (H)

Has this been cancelled or something? - can’t see a thread for our next game on Saturday. If there is one please merge.

Anyhoo, it’s a tough one but we’re at home. All of a sudden, they are 2 points off the playoffs and have a game in hand on Huddersfield in 6th so there’s no way they won’t be fired up for this. They’ve been scoring for fun at home this last month, less so away but they have players all over the park that can find the net including Mr Morley, formerly of this parish.

They must be thinking playoffs in which case they need something off us…..but we’re not going to give them anything are we?

Scoring goals so late so regularly isn’t luck. It’s belief in themselves and a reluctance to accept defeat. In part by the fact that opposition are just absolutely fucked at the end and also that neve

Simons and Dempsey on. Aptor and Sheehan off. They're controlling everything at the moment. We don't have any link up play with the two forwards.

Don’t change a winning team is often said, unfortunately that first half is the epitome why every game is different. Can’t even win a second ball, totally overrun in midfield, inviting crosses into our box at will & have two strikers on the pitch who can’t even get a ball up to them due to completely being dominated all over the pitch. Set up totally wrong against these today

Booing ffs, I'm sure the players know they've been shite.

For the collective, they should be able to accommodate some grief.

Just don't do it to individuals.

Anyway, SS went to watch these, yet there is little evidence that that helped!

He made some odd change against Blackpool that weren't necessary. Tool soundings from "Evatt" players.

Having watched these, surely he knew they would press and be physical. Yet two in midfield, with one Sheehan.

What is frustrating is the lack of adaptability on the pitch, and perhaps a horses for courses approach off it. He must be able to see when our players have their struggles.

Probably too late now, but 3 at the back, wingbacks and 2 up top.

really poor from Erahon for their second.

Fucks me off when we try to stop the man instead of winning the fucking header.

Apter is a nothing player. Weak. No right foot. Too small. Needs hooking for CBT.

Next goal key. We need it.

Christie isn’t on their list bench

Right you are, and that's not ideal at all. Conway, Dempsey and CBT need to come on then

if we get the next 4 I reckon we could nick a draw

Apter has had his opportunity. Weak as piss, another Randall. But we are 2nd best all over the shop. 2nd best manager too from this showing.

They’ve been totally overrun in midfield.

I’d get Tutu, Sheehan, Apter off and possibly Kenny although with us being pinned back he’s not had a sniff. Gale is another candidate despite his running as he has no end product. We need at least 3 in the congested middle Demps, Simons and Erhahon.

We get battered by all teams who play a high press; should be knocking it long rather than trying to play through it. Thought SS watched the game Tuesday

Whatever the opposition try to do, we have to have alternatives to overcome it.

I’d have settled for a draw before the game so if we can turn this round I’d be more than happy.

I thought there was goal line technology these days for instances like that?

FFS Sheehan, that was pathetic.

Angle from behind the goal suggests it didn’t quite cross unfortunately.

But we’re looking a bit more like it this half so far.

Sheehan still a passenger and Tutu a liability though - need more changes - maybe Demps or Simons and Conway.

That's exactly what poster's have said.

A logical approach to an impossible situation.

I'm currently more concerned about facing Wycombe in the playoffs

With managerial misjudgments and performances like the first half, I’m currently more concerned about staying in the playoffs.

Are you disregarding the 10 games unbeaten before that then? This is very much a one-off

Are you disregarding teams fighting for survival or playoffs at this stage? Not important as with performances like that we could be beaten by the blind school. We have to do better.

Today has been a shitshow, but we have been doing better
