Taking into account the 1st leg is at home and nothing will be decided I reckon just chipping over 20k is about right. The Ipswich division 1 playoff semi home leg got around 22k and that was a Saturday 3pm kick off for a chance to get into the Prem.

Are you talking about tickets sold or arses on seats?

Wonder how many folk have had a holiday booked, thinking the season will be over?

Good time of year, before kids break up.

Our drop to 5th has done me a favour, go on holiday Monday and will be out of the country if there is a meltdown next Thursday night.

Barnsley home first was about 22k as well. The second leg one was boosted by being 3-1 up.

If we get to 22k the place will feel packed anyway

Yeh we’ll do another 3/4K.

Around 22k will look and feel good.

Big game. Big atmosphere guaranteed 👏

I'm in but it really fucking pains me that it's 8pm on a Saturday night. Could have been a 5:30 KO

3 other ST holders Iknow aren't going as 2 are on a long booked birthday meal and the other cba giving up a Saturday night.

Are the 2 things not 1 of the same? Do we have many freebies flying around for the playoffs compared to a regular league game? Those that buy for this match turn up 99% of the time.

You'd be surprised - probably a couple hundred difference between actual and given attendance than the several thousand it usually is.

Mind you, think it's just playing staff/manager/board this time (and I'm not sure they're actually comps this time) so most if not at all are likely to turn up.

I believe they count STs in attendances on a match day whether they are used or not.

It's a good job they do.

Some of the recent night games we've barely had 10k on.

Don't tell anyone our secret though as everyone else in the league thinks we are massive :)

Looks like only 500 went on sale to Bradford STs

And old school ticket office style rather than luckiest finger first

I saw a Bradford fan on X last night, incredulous that we didn't have a loyalty scheme for away tickets. Meanwhile, they're camping outside the ticket office for theirs!

That’s alright cause everyone else in all leagues do the same these days! 😂

I miss the odd night game especially in winter usually due to work and it all being to much of a rush. No way would I miss this. Yeah kick off time is shite its on tv etc but unless I had a long standing prior arrangement it would take a seismic event to stop me being sat down in the ground at 8pm. Nights like this are why we do what we do. Most Saturdays are taken up with the football anyway this is one no different ,just a little later.  I cant think of a better place to be at 8pm this Saturday .

You’d think most would fall into this category.

Holidays and long standing celebrations is fair enough.

But can’t be arsed giving up a Saturday night puts you pretty close to shit fan status.

There’s a Prem game on at 5.30 so we’ve no chance of having the same time

Our fanbase is ridiculous to where it was a few years ago and just doesn't really make much sense.

We get bigger crowds now than we did in the later stages of the prem era and championship times.

That Tranmere cup semi final attendance always makes me shudder. Few seasons before we'd packed Burnden out v Swindon yet we could barely manage 13k on.

The Villa semi was as bad. Embarrassing in fact.

We've definitely gained a lot of support north of Bolton by being in Horwich, towns like Leyland and Chorley are all big Bolton bases, miles more than they used to be.

I think similar about a few of the European home games.

The way football supporter/"awayday" culture has gone in the last few years as well, imagine the even larger hordes champing at the bit for the away games than there was last time around too!

Also, not sure if it was just coincidental timing or not but I saw it from that first season back in Championship after dropping out of the PL, loads of groups of younger fans going to aways who will now be prime age.

It’s great - wouldn’t have it any other way.

But I could do without that level of interest tomorrow morning at 10am 😂

There's loads of us from Horwich, Blackrod and Westhoughton who live in or around Chorley.

I know 6 who live in my village who were just in my year at Rivi, there's plenty more.
