How is Ruth Kelly's or the education system's fault that you didn't have the up to date prospectus?

We did have the update prospectus in October 2005...... They decided January 2006 to change:

1.The name of the course

2. Entry Criteria.

Which is wrong they shoulod have made the changes before the course was offered not after !!!

Nah - not having that - they can't do that.

Well..................

They did !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also had something to do with

Number of applicants at Diploma Level

Number of applicants at Degree level

Degree isnt goverment funded...........

The said course is now 2 years at Diploma leveland the 3rd year at Degree level

Wouldn't surprise me if they can. There were people I knew when I was at university doing modern European history who were told halfway through their final year that they were actually going to get a degree in European Studies.

The whole thing's a fraud anyway. Anything other than a vocational degree is a waste of time. That's the only reason I went into mountains of debt to do a Masters afterwards.

Social science degree or facial tattoo? The effect is much the same.

Not strictly true Maggie.

You get a first in PPE from Oxford, you'll walk into a job in the City. If you're called Tarquin, so much the better.

I know 3 adrians

one when I was a kid he could steal a car in less than 20 seconds, always going to young offenders jails, second is a joiner who comes to England games with me who lives in St Helens and the third signs off all my invoices without asking any questions and I get paid within 2 weeks so they are not all that bad.

Did the first one live in Halliwell and have blond curly hair?

word was that the camp act was indeed just an act - and frankly I dont think I'd argue with him on that score. Well I might now as he may well be dead for all I know

One of my friends who finishes the course is about to face the same problem.

Feel like my degree was a waste of time, but I suppose its my own fault for choosing a mickey mouse subject!

Bollox

I worked 30 hours a week unloading wagons to pay my way through uni - stared at 5 in the morning, meant I didnt get many nights out, and was annoyed as feck at those who thought that a student life meant staying in bed till dinner each day.

If you want it, you work for it. And don't blame others.

I did one day a week as a cleaner to pay for myself, although to be honest I just borrowed loads, got pissed and stoned all the time and at the age of 32 have only just paid it back. Easy to get into a lot of debt in London.

This old woman who worked there, Charlton fan, used to give me a pound every week and say 'treat yourself' - that's when you know you're poor :D

Student life is shite! FACT!!!

Loads of debt!!

Well, after 4 years at University I left with a debt of ??250, mostly due to buying clothes for interviews. Paid it off within 6 months too. Eeh, those were the days - when students got a grant :D

PS, I did work for a year before I went so that I had a stash of cash behind me & didn't get into debt. And I wouldn't go now if I had to get into debt.

At my age in life its catch 22! I could either stay in a dead end job for peanuts for the rest of my life or educate myself and further myself and be able to do a job that I will (hopefully) get job satisfaction from.

TBH what i'm learning at uni is pants and bears no relevance to the field of work I wish to go into, maybe that will change in my final year :-k
