Traf Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Fortune is expected to be unveiled as a Bolton player on Thursday, accoriding to my spy at the Reebok. Apparently there are still a couple of details to be agreed upon regarding his contract, but these should be sorted by tomorrow evening.

no balls Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Fortune is expected to be unveiled as a Bolton player on Thursday, according to my spy at the Reebok. Which pub was this 'spy' drinking in?
Spider Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 People will invariably moan, but I think he's a good signing. Not a world beater but a United friend (sic.) of mine was saying he'll make our midfield one of the toughest in the prem, and I see nothing wrong with that. And don't give up hope, we may yet buy ourselves the fancy-dan playmaker we crave, and if so I am optomistic about the season ahead. Whatever you think about Sam, his good buys vastly outweigh his bad ones.
Casino Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Whatever you think about Sam, his good buys vastly outweigh his bad ones. you sure? my opinion is that he brings in way more bad uns than good uns not that i'm criticising as such, because thats the gamble when shopping in the pound shop
Guest as Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 If he stays injury free - I'm gald we've (almost got him). If he's injured all the time - we shouldn't be wasting our money on Munich-rejects. PB
Traf Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Traf is your spy a she by any chance ?? :-# She was, the last time I looked! But I've not seen her for a few months, only spoke to her on the phone, so you never know.
Spider Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I can't be mithered with a list, but the only true bollox that he's dropped have been Jardel and Fernandes. Any others don't leap immediatly to mind or simply didn't cost the club much. I still think Fortune is a good move though.

But the trick is to stop the mistakes costing a shed load. The number of expensive mistakes has been rare. Perhaps Johnson but even his ??1m fee was offset by his probably small wages. Jardel too?
Mounts Kipper Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 a fit Fortune will be a top player for bolton, that will be meite and fortune who man city were interested in, both signing for bolton, in my lifetime 2 players choosing bolton before city has never happened, that is the progress and ambition bolton and sam allardyce are showing.

Traf Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Cheers Zico. I was in Turkey a couple of weeks ago and I was trying to convince the locals that Turkish players were shit and I used Tugay and Emre as examples, but couldn't for the life of me remember Bulent's name.
Carlos Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 They would have thought you meant Bulent Korkmaz, who of course it the player Sam meant to sign.
Traf Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Korkmaz was decent and in the Turkish national team. I also thought he got the wrong Bulent. A bit similar to ManYoo signing the wrong player when they got Kleberson.
