For ?2 mill I think that is a thoroughly gay signing if true

We don't need him, Diouf, Anelka, Davies, Vaz Te are plenty enough IMO and Stelios / Nolan can play in the front three too

And he is also sh?te

He gets injured a lot. Better bet is Brian McBride, old but the only player in the Premiership who could do the Kevin Davies job. Then again we are going to be playing differantly next season =D>

Best not...he's dog sh?t.

He aint a world beater but I think he's not a bad signing for around ?2 mil

2 million hes fuckin pants, can only take penalties.

he must be shit if fulham want too get rid off him.

wouldn't it make you rush out and get season ticket at the prospect of him in a bolton shirt

Well there is certainly something being said about Helguson and Bolton - hence the link I posted - but being unable to read Icelandic I don't know what it says - do you? (Did you even look at the link?)

I have not however seen anything linking us with Kaka - have you?

I tend to think that Bolton may be looking to sign Helguson perhaps - but not Kaka - would you not agree?

?1.8m rising to ?2.2m based on appearances over a 3yr deal, apparently.

Heidar is Icelandic for "Pink footed goose!"

So the goose will replace the Peacock.

When I saw this, I thought 'good back up for nowt'

If we have paid 2m for him, oh dear.

Better win that Peace cup to pay for this reserve team player.

Shame if we have lowered our sights from Cisse to this guy

Signing confirmed this morning.

Undisclosed fee.

Decent squad addition, but ?2? I hope not.

Taken from Skysports this morning

Bolton Wanderers have agreed a deal to sign Fulham striker Heidar Helguson.

The Iceland international has accepted a three-year contract at The Reebok Stadium and will move for an undisclosed fee.

Helguson has scored 11 goals in 57 Premier League appearances since joining Fulham from Watford two years ago.

The recent signings of Diomansy Kamara and David Healy have seen the 29-year-old linked with a ?2million return to Vicarage Road.

But he has secured a move to stay in the top flight, with Bolton boss Sammy Lee happy with his impending new recruit.

"I like Helguson a lot," Lee told the club's official website. "He has a great work ethic and understands the demands of the Premier League.

"He has good overall ability and adds quality to our squad in a key area, which will be vital next season.

"I have always been an admirer of his attitude to the game and his ability to score goals at vital times."

Helguson is due to finalise the switch within the next 24 hours and is likely to pull on a Bolton shirt for the first time in next Wednesday's friendly with Hibernian.

Whilst, on the face of it people might grumble that we have paid around ?2M for him, lets not forget how silly prices have become this year due to the extra influx of cash. Even squad players now are going to cost ?1M-?2M. I presume he will be a bench player inthe main, but lets remember how we struggled last seaosn when Davies was out injured, and I see this huy as a "like for like" player (admitedly not as good though). With us having the extra commitments of Europe this year, then we are naturally going to use the full squad. I for one don't see it as a bad thing that we have got another body in.

Didn't Little Sam say he wanted 2 players for every position, well here is his back up for Davies.

The thing I like most about this, is the fact that nobody knew anything about it until it happened. Under the previous regime, we would have known about this "possible deal" weeks ago. It looks as though Sammy Lee is keeping quiet about transfers until they have happened, it's a good way to do business I reckon

Better backup than Henrick was, ?2m though?!! waste IMO

Name the striker you want us to go and sign then! And be realistic ffs!

It's the going rate unfortunately - I don't think we could have got anybody, any better for less do you? (who is already adjusted to and experienced at playing in the Premier League)

Helguson set to make Bolton move

Helguson had also been linked with a move back to Watford

Bolton have agreed an undisclosed fee with Fulham to bring striker Heidar Helguson to the Reebok Stadium.

The 29-year-old Icelandic international has passed a medical and is poised to sign a three-year contract.

"I like Helguson a lot," Bolton boss Sammy Lee told the club website. "He has a great work ethic and understands the demands of the Premier League.

"I have always been an admirer of his attitude to the game and his ability to score goals at vital times."

Helguson had also been linked with a move back to former club Watford, as well as West Brom and Charlton.

Fulham signed the striker from Vicarage Road for a ?1.3m fee in 2005 but he was unable to win a regular first-team place.

He made 57 appearances, scoring 12 goals.

Taken from BBc sport.

Hold your horses before you start slagging the club and the player off.

Remember thougths of Davies when he signed, people said WTF then and what a bargain he turned out to be.

Give the lad a chance he is now a Wanderer.

Why the f*ck do we need another backup striker? Anelka, Davies, Diouff, Vaz Te, Harsanyi. Yes Zoltan himself, he's on a 4 year deal, an old codger I knows goes to every reserve game and rates him very highly and from what I've heard he's played pretty well in Korea so he must have something about him.

Unless he's planning to get rid of that arse Vaz Te............I live in hope!

Agree with CWP earlier, biggest positive about this is that no-one knew about it till it happened. ?2 million for 12 goals in 2 seasons beating Watford, Charlton and West Brom for his signature.

IMO not a bad signing, honest hard working lad who chips in with goals, gives defenders a hard time and never stops. With some of the cash being thrown about this league this summer I don't think it's the worst signing we could have made. He's experienced in the Prem too unlike some players.

as someone else stated if davies gets injured we really struggle helguson can be that target man, 2 million in this day for a player with good premiership experience is not expensive, lastly and regarding Vaz te, after seeing him in the peace cup I think he will finally make an impact this season.

Unless he's planning to get rid of that arse Vaz Te............I live in hope!

I guess you're one of those bell-ends that sit behind me and slag off Vaz Te before he's touched the ball?? :angry2:

One game last season, Vaz Te comes on as sub; his first bit of action is as the ball is fired somewhere in his neck region...cue "fookin ell Vaz Te, can't you even trap a ball". Had a mate with me who's a Citeh fan - he commented that BWFC fans moan more than their lot - that says alot, but especially as we were fighting for Europe and they didn't even score at home post-January.

Agreed. Think Vaz could come of age a little. Heard that last year he was used as a sub 24 times (which was the most in the league). Any player is going to get fed up of this and struggle to make an impact. When he had a run in the side the year before this at the end of the season he looked like he was turning into a decent player.

If he can come good, Nolan regain his form and get O'Brien back that could be like 3 new signings in itself.

Those "bell ends" that sit behind you, sit next to you, in front of you and on all 3 sides of the ground, doesn't that tell you something? I get as pissed off as anyone when our players get grief so don't give me that bollocks. My issue with Vaz Te is I (we) have been waiting for him to come good for 3 or 4 seasons now and he hasn't, time to let someone else pay his wages me thinks.

rant and bite over. This thread isn't about him anyway.
