Burndens Bogs Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 What do you think the line up will be to face the Jawdees?

jimmyjoojar Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) _________Jussi__________ Hunt__Cid__Meite__Samuel Vaz Te_Nolan_McCann_Diouf _____Davies__Anelka_____ I'm with Homer, but i would be tempted to include Vaz Te out wide, as Nolan struggles to be effective out wide. But then Vaz Te doesn't put in the same about of back tracking as Kev would. Edited August 2, 2007 by jimmyjoojar

wiggy Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Couldn't disagree with that Homer. Actually quite excites me that we'll still have the likes of Vaz Te, Helgusson, Campo, Faye, Stelios and our 2 new tricky wingers on the bench. But I may be the only one!
jimmyjoojar Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 _________jussi hunt__meite__cid__samuel Wilhelmsson mccann nolan diouf ______davies anelka ____ Wilhelmsson won't play for sure. I'd be surprise if he starts the first few games.
HomerJay Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 if nolan wasnt captain, he wouldnt be in the team to start with imo. a lot to prove this season.

enzo gambaro Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 if nolan wasnt captain, he wouldnt be in the team to start with imo. I'm not sure he will be. I don't expect him to play in a wide role, and I've said umpteen times before that I don't think he has the wherewithal to be an orthodox centre midfielder. We're not short of competition in that department now, and I reckon we have players better suited to the job in hand. I expect Alonso to figure prominently this season, and I think we'll probably see more of Guthrie than a lot of people expect, too.

I think we have suited wide players this season so its hard to see where Nolan would fit in.... my team v jawdees wud be this... pace out wide stop their fullbacks and f**kin fritten em in centre mid --------------------jussi------------------------------ Hunt.........Cid...........Meite...............Samuel Vaz Te.......... Mccann... Faye .......................Diuof ...................Anelka..............Davies....
bwfcbromcross Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Jussi O'Brien Cid Meite Gardner Willy Nolan Speed Diouf Davies Anelka
Mounts Kipper Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) _________jussi hunt__meite__cid__samuel nolan mccann speed diouf ______davies anelka ____ If Cid is left footed and can play left back I would consider him instead of samuels, with faye at centre half, and maybe speed and nolan centre midfield with wilhelmson on the other wing. Edited August 2, 2007 by Mounts Kipper
Smiley Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Some interesting choices. But we'll go with an experienced midfield. Too soon for McCann and the other new boys. Cid needs to watch a few matches before jumping in, so we'll give him a rest for first match. Play him down at Fulham. I'm tipping a 4-1-3-2 formation. If these 5 defensive players cannot keep them out and those attacking 5 players cannot score - I'll be amazed. Jussi Sinclair Meite Faye Samuel Campo Diouf Speed Nolan Davies Anelka Subs: Vaz Te, McCann, Cid, Guthrie, Al Absi
cbwfcd Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 For me based off last night --------------------jussi------------------------------ Sinclair.........Meite...........Cid...............Samuel Nolan.......... Guthrie... Campo .......................Vaz Te ...................Anelka..............Diouf.... Not sure about Guthrie but I thought nolan played well on the right, Campo played well too, but Davies seemed to be a little bit slow.

frank_spencer Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I think Davies will be a centre half in the next 2 seasons. A Faye and Davies centre half partnership would scare most centre forwards i'm sure.
Zico Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 4-3-3 Jussi Hunt - Cid - Meite - Samuel Have - No - Idea Diouf - Anelka - Davies

bwfc6ix Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Maybe Alonso startin centre mid instead of McCann...He impressed me alot last night
exiledwhite2 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 4-3-3 Jussi Hunt - Cid - Meite - Samuel Have - No - Idea Diouf - Anelka - Davies I agree, or at least I'd play 4-3-3 Faye in for Cid Campo, Nolan, Speed midfield...maybe McCann for Speed We sure have options this year, I like McCann as a player and we've a fair few new boys too...lots of them attacking players

HazzyinBolton Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 We've just had a discussion about this at work & the view is that LSL will want to play Wilhelmson (his biggest signing), keep Nolan as captain (he hasn't said he's not captain yet), & play this team: Jussi Hunt Meite Cid Samuel Diouf Faye Nolan Wilhelmson Anelka Davies That leaves one hell of a potential bench: Al Habsi-Walker-Sinclair-Michailik-Campo-Andranik-Guthrie-McCann-Braaten-Harsanyi-Helguson-Speed-Alonso-Vaz Te Not to mention the injured Stelios-Gardener-O'Brien-Dzemali! Let's hope LSL can man manage.

Let's hope LSL can man manage. Aye it's a good squad But considering Gardner is a converted LB, Samuel is not the best defensively, Faye can play midfield and will go to the African Nations, O'Brien is long term injured, and Hunt is commonly recognised as the 'weakest link' - it's shockingly low on defenders IMO
