YATESY
IMO over 500 will be good. A lot who I spoke to on Saturday are struggling with a combination of time-off-work, cost and difficulty to easily get there. Many seem to be taking the gamble and waiting for the group stage. Fancy a Weds-Sat job. Cost/time etc not a problem. I'm struggling to get anyone interested for those reasons! Watch us do a City against Groclin now.. Smiley
in all fairness - none of the trips last time were straightforward. not really any direct routes in/out at suitable times.
captainmed
in all fairness - none of the trips last time were straightforward.not really any direct routes in/out at suitable times. Surely part of the UEFA experience is the venture into the unknown but it seems to scare some people. For those people there is the day trip. For me personally it was the trip i wanted - i'll never go back again and i have already been to nuremberg, holland and denmark. I accept that people have costs restrictions but if you were organised then you could get a flight for around the ?220 mark albeit not direct. There are no excuses for time off work neither. We have all known the exact date for months. Its a bit of a gamble waiting for the next round as you never know. Are some people waiting for a trip to Scotland in the group stages? I predict around 700 but it should be more.

Teachers, etc. My personal circumstances - I really, really, really could have done without taking 3 days off that week - but I am doing. Its gonna piss a lot of people off. SatanGreavsie
I think the "wait for the group stage" decision is reasonable - I almost did it and would have if the costs had got much higher. Cannot see us losing this as we're scoring at the moment. If we had the same Prem record and just couldn't get the ball in the net it would be a different thing - might set us up for a 1-0 away defeat and a late equailser at the Reebok. But - assuming we play a full strength team - we will score out there and back here and they're too weak to cope with that. I think Having done them all thus far, for me it's a question of a new experience watching a team I've supported for 30 years. For that reason I'll probably do an "in and out" organised trip for the first time in one of the group matches - just because it's summat different (and work-wise I may have to anyhow). Get the most out of these matches folks - like as not they'll never happen again unless we win a Cup.
YATESY
Agree totally Satan. I can not take the 3 day trip due to pressures at work in September and October but I will be there via one of the in-and-out day trips. Three of my mates are teachers and thus, have to take the gamble of a group match. Then they are totally relying on group match 1 in the October half term being an away one. At first they thought they would have two opportunities with the group match 5 in mid December but we are pretty sure this will be the week off for the English clubs as it clashes with the Carling Cup. (Didn't that happen two years ago when a group match clashed?). I think that anybody gambling on wating for the group stage is playing a risky game. On our current indifferent form we may not make it.

Guest squidgy66
I reckon everyone is being very pessimistic about numbers here. Didn't we take about 400 to Istanbul when noone said they wanted to go because of potential crowd trouble? Practically everyone I've spoken to is making the trip. I'm going for a more cheerful 1,

I'm going for a more cheerful 1,900 we flogged 352 tickets to Istanbul and I doubt all of them actually went; no way we'll get 1900 for this one. This is the easiest tie we could have got imo For those struggling to get to Skopje and wishing we had drawn Salzburg or Nuremberg the one consulation is that we do have the easist tie of the 5 possible options in the draw.
