Underpants Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I'm normaly a rational and level headed person but today I am very VERY ANGRY. I don't care who you are playing, no team should lose a match in 45mins against a team that is 2-0 down and playing with ten men. Unbelievable!

Whilst mortified & completely down, it has to be said that Wanderers did not just lose today; Arsenal won. Wenger gambled & won; well done, him. He did have ?1bn of talent on the bench. Bolton played well for most of the match and we couldn't match them when it mattered and the squad is lighter than Arsenals. They are one of the richest clubs in the world, we are not. BUT...what the hell were we doing with insufficient on the bench? We could/ should have nailed it at 3-0 after the break and couldn't (lack of belief)

No team should lose a match 2-0 up playing against 10 men with less than 30mins left. It will take me a long time to get over what I witnessed today. Edited March 29, 2008 by Underpants

We could/ should have nailed it at 3-0 after the break and couldn't (lack of belief) well said, we will not be relegated because of todays performance, terrible decisions 1 after the other have seen us relegated, on reflection we have had a fantastic 10 years, BWFC now have to stabilise the club and make sure we do not drop right through the championship to Division 1, we need to have a complete re-think as to what our club is all about, never again should we have to throw cup games to try to consolidate our league position, the club needs a good clear out in all areas, new hungry ambitious players need purchasing, board members and we all know who they are need to hold there hands up and walk away, new faces and a new era is about to begin, hold tight cause it is going to be a bumpy ride.

I don't remember ever having such a high at half time with a corresponding low at 90 mins. Let's hope red wine will do the job.

You could have been at Stamford Bridge when we were 3-0 up with 17 mins to play (1979) : 3-4 defeat, AND been at Scarborough in 1987 (0-4) AND been at the Reebok this afternoon. Some things we never forget nor get over. <sob>

As i said a couple of weeks ago, this team is now mostly a team of ENGLISH hard working championship plodders! But isnt that what a lot on here wanted? A team of Warren Joyce and Julian Darby workraters? The Arse had enough quality to only need 10! oh well for me personally Burnley Preston and Blackpool away will be fun! ren
no balls Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 oh well for me personally Burnley Preston and Blackpool away will be fun! I'm one of thoe weirdo's too. You're not alone. But only for one season and as a novelty, I hope.
beer_swiller Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 It did appear for most the game that Arsenal had twelve men never mind ten. I agree with Undies, no team no matter who they are and who they are playing should lose a game in 45 mins to a side down to ten men and two goals behind. Beer swiller
HomerJay Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 arsenal could beat most teams in this leaguen with ten men....
Big_Girl_Oral_Explosion Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 arsenal could beat most teams in this leaguen with ten men.... i would agree...however with 35 mins to play and 2-0 down a team fighting relegation at home should not have been allowed to knock the ball about with such ease.......fitness?
Underpants Posted March 30, 2008 Author Posted March 30, 2008 arsenal could beat most teams in this leaguen with ten men.... We have got a relatively good record against that lot but yesterday shows how far we have fallen. Yes, Arsenal are a very good team but for me the pain of yesterday's result is up there with the 1-5 home dicking we got from Coventry in '98.
jolly-olly Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 The fact is that the ginger tosser does not have a clue how to change tactics. When they changed to 3 at the back, we should have changed to 442 and used Diouf and Stelios to stretch them down the flanks. We played right into their hands instead. Megson is an idiot. Bringing Hunt on and playing him where he did just summed up the man as an idiot. Oh and that little shit Walcott should have been given a crunching tackle as soon as he came on.

Whenever i hear Megson interviewed he sounds like an intelligent bloke who is more than capable of expressing himself and yet he seems completely incapable of influencing the course of events.
magic legs Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Maybe the players are too thick to understand? Steinnson letting Gallas go for the first. Cahill or Obrien (wasnt sure which) not covering Hleb's run for the start of the move that brought the penalty. Megson may be in over his head tactically, but if the players can't do the simple things like marking or tracking runs from a player they are facing, then what can you do?
Carlos Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Surely defensive organisation comes from working together on the training ground every day, rather than actual games?
jolly-olly Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 What is the point of having all 11 men back on corners then letting Gallas go completely free and also nobody covering the posts?

Megson himself on Radio Manchester stated he brought Hunt on to "shore things up". He admitted it is something he should not have to do at home against 10 men but he felt he had to with the way we were getting pulled to pieces.
