Hull boss Brown chasing Bolton keeper Al Habsi

tribalfootball.com - June 08, 2008

Hull City boss Phil Brown is chasing Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.

Al Habsi, 26, can buy out the remainder of his contract for ?300,000.

Brown reckons he would be a good acquisition even though he has spent most of his time at the Reebok as understudy to Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Hull keeper Boaz Myhill was solid last season and played a key role in helping the Tigers into the Premier League, but Brown is keen to recruit a keeper with top-level experience.

Hull go for Bolton fullback Hunt

tribalfootball.com - June 08, 2008

Hull City boss Phil Brown is moving for Bolton Wanderers fullback Nicky Hunt.

Brown knows about former England Under-21 defender Hunt, 24, after his time at the Reebok.

Hunt struggled to hold down a regular place last season but his contract could be a stumbling block - he signed a four-year deal last summer.

Was also in the Sunday People yesterday

I'd keep Nicky Hunt

I'd keep Al Habsi more!

I'd keep Nicky Hunt

If Stephen Carr is a replacement as rumoured, I would rather keep Hunt, Al Habsi, should be first choice and kept at the club, sell them Jussi.

If we end up selling off what remains of our squad, we'll be in even more trouble that last season.

Yeah but what if they offer say ?1,000,000 for Hunt? He wont be short of a lift there!

Hull City will become Bolton reserves FACT

if we sell hunt for ?1m, we are a disgrace.

I agree, we should be paying them!!

Joking aside, I think the lad turned a corner last year and put some decent games in.

Sell Jussi and Hunt. Al Habsi had a better end to the season than the whole of Jussi's and well we don't exactly need Hunt and would be a good opportunity for someone like Sinclair to start being on the bench.

I f they keep that finnish c?nt and sell Al Habsi, I won't be attending anymore games .........itk fact

Rather go to old trafford

Just had a call off my mate who been talking to Nicky Hunt in the departure lounge at Manny airport, he said he will be fit and raring to go at the start of next season, just when i thought my day couldn't get any worse, that fcuking happens

Hunt is good as back up for Steinsson. As for Sinclair I thought he was a striker, whats the point in changing his postion when we already have decent cover.

Was a striker, and on the verge of a release until he showed what he could do at right back, at the end of 06/07. Seen him on the wing, and up front again since then. Just a versatile player I think.

There's plenty full backs worse than Hunt in the Prem.

If Al Habsi does go i will never go to the reebok again EVER.

thats two of us then

Wash your fecking mouth out

Jussi has agreed his new deal and has just got to sign it, So unless Al Habsi is happy playing 2nd fiddle again he will be going. Theres no way Jussi will be second choice with the money hes on.

Jussi signs deal, we sell and get money for him <_<

I'm going to Hull today, I'll drop Hunt and Jussi off.

If Al Habsi does go i will never go to the reebok again EVER.
Even if Al Habsi has already decided he wants to be somewhere else? (irrespective of the Jussi situation)

The Jussi deal makes me laugh.

Up to his recent 'injury' he was off this summer and was dreaming / waiting to see all the deals come rolling in from top clubs across Europe.

He gets the injury, Al Habsi comes in and does very well.

Maybe the offers have dried up / none received.

Jussi decides he is best sticking with Bolton as the grass may not be greener.

I just hope the contract he is signing is of less value than the one he rejected in January - I bet it ain't but Jussi is no longer the guaranteed first choice (assuming Al Habsi stays) that he was 3 months ago.

shows that it doesn't matter how often folk post ITK FACT shite, it can still be wrong

JSL

btw, anybody who is actually ITK knows that jussi wasn't able to play due to his back injury

you feel free to stick to conspiracy theories though
