was a bit worried with this paragraph!

''City remain firmly in the hunt for Davies, but sources in the north-west suggest they will have to find close to ?3m if they are to land his signature

With another two years still to run on his contract, Bolton boss Gary Megson is reluctant to see the popular targetman leave the Reebok Stadium.

But with City set to return with an increased offer, Megson could be tempted to cash in ahead of the transfer deadline on August 31.''

I got a very bad feeling that Meggo may go and do the worst thing he has ever done in his management roles to date!!!

anyone else fear the worst?

Apparently according to Meggo on Friday he was supposed to sign in the next "24 to 48 hours". If he hasn't signed by tomorrow then i will start to be concerned but i don't think Meggo will let him go. He knows how important he is to the team and how he can help provide goals for others like Elmander, Nolan, Riga, Taylor etc. He loves Bolton and at his stage in his career he won't want to join a club who are 99.9% certain to get relegated.

I agree with you on that score. but really how much do you think he is worth in pounds at 31 ?3mill is getting close.

will have to see when he puts pen to paper, to me he is the most important part of our team

He will never go anywhere, especially Hull. And as for the question about how much he is worth, he is worth far more to us, then he is in money. Your probably right with your fee of about ?3 mill, but he's worth far more to us and thats the reason why he will never be sold and will retire a Bolton legend.

I'd look fcuking stupid now if he signed for Hull

Bit strange that for such a valuable player only Hull have shown any interest in all the years he's been with us??

The way some on here eulogise him surely his only options would be Inter, Real Madrid or Barcelona (maybe a cash plus Gudjohnsen deal)??

Out of order that. He is a popular lad because he works his b0llocks off; puts himself about and just gets up and dusts himself down and gets on with it. Oh, and NB wants to shag him. Nobody here believes there is a higher club level he could go to. Found his niche at the Reebok.

I don't think he'll go anywhere for a while yet and then spend his last season or two at Sheffield United.

Whoah, whoah! Crushes should be just that!

And it wouldn't be shagging! :nea:

Its a surprise that somebody like Davies has taken 6 weeks to agree a new deal.

I think it was Phil Neville the other week, who said that he can't understand new deals that weeks to resolve. He signed his after one meeting. He liked the club, appreciates the pay rise and signed the papers.

New contracts don't always involve a pay rise do they. Also, I suppose it depends what clause is written in, in the case of the club getting relegated

Jimmy what I meant was that he wouldn't be that valuable for another team, which is why Hull's offer is probably about right, but as you have seen from the reaction just on here, he is worth far more to BWFC and it would take a lot bigger offer for us to sell, and seen as another club will not come in with that much of a bigger offer (as he's not worth as much to them) then IMO he will stay with us for a while more, if not all his career.

I can't explain properly but hopefully you'll understand that :pardon:

I suspect Neville is on a lot more than Davies and doesn't have to think about his future quite as much

granted, Davies will have earned a bob or two in his career but still, got to look after yourself, this prob be his last contract

there's also a lot of thing Phil Neville probably doesn't understand

now players who haggle over ?5k when they're offered 115 but want 120

thems the ones that annoy me

KD has slowed, become less mobile.

He is a top guy and still good enough, but if he is played right wing, then wasted.

If that were to be the plan, then let's have ?3m for him, as long as there is a back up.

Based on our swap deal attempts with WBA for Meite, maybe we will see Dean Windass in a Bolton shirt next season?

Its fine Eddie I do know where your coming from, and I do know how valuable he has been to BWFC.

It was more a satirical wind up for the posters who jump down your throat for questioning the great mans ability.
