I agree with you there, Happy. Maybe that's why GM says far too frequently post-match that the players didn't do what they were told to do - there's no enforcer on the pitch.

But as for Nolan, he shouts and points a lot but to little effect. Whether he's shouting the wrong things or the other players won't listen, I don't know. What we need is one or two REAL leaders on the pitch - preferably one for the back-four, one for midfield. Currently we have a team of heads-down doing-my-own-job non-vocal players.

dunno matty taylor never seems to shut the fuck up =D>

Used to be a great player for us and I am sorry to see him leave but his performances over the last couple of seasons haven't been brilliant. Sometimes a new club is what a player needs to get his form back, good luck to him I say, he's been a loyal servant to BWFC for 10 years.

Just don't understand why the hell we would sell the captain to a relegation rival that's in the middle of an injury crisis, must be more to it than just some tossers booing surely?

One thing that worries me is that Nolan is a leader who pulls players together. Who the hell in the team can do that now. I like Cahill but he is not vocal enough.

Davies?

Steinsson?

Patrick Vieira?

After my initial shock I am going to have a bit of faith that, although we have agreed aprice, we won't sell Nolan until that Porteguese lad, or other class act, has signed.

Still would much rather see them both here though. Didnt see any signs from Nolan that it might be his last match for us last night

There are a number of issues with this

First of all, apart from a couple of games, Nolan has been poor again all season and to get a few million now might be a good deal

The main concern though is that we are already short of players and if Megson thinks the young lad Davies will do something immediate then he really is deluded; hope I am wrong though

Unless we have a creative midfield player of proven quality signed and sealed this transfer should not go ahead

If they are offering Barton then thats just trouble for Bolton as this guy will never toe the line IMOA

Joey Barton will not be part of any deal.

Broke his metatarsal last night. Out for 8-10 weeks.

good luck to the lad. he gets shit week in week out, deserves a break. about time people started to get behind everyone rather than slag everyone off. on saturday would rather have 10,000 getting behind the team than another 7 or 8,000 happy to slag off the minute they get chance. nows time for the battle cry forget the whinging and lets hae 17 or 18,000 behind the team for once

Joey Barton will not be part of any deal.

He's also worth at least 4.5 million too isn't he? I doubt we'd do a straight swap.

As I said this morning in a previous post... it's time he left for a fresh start..... for both him and the club.

Let's hope the money goes towards Veloso or how about ?15 mill for Arshavin?

or how about ?15 mill for Arshavin?

Behave

Interesting move and as some have hinted at, unlikely to go through unless we have someone lined up. ?4 million (ish) isn't a king's ransom.

I doubt it's Veloso, but I suspect someone will be in the revolving door in the next couple of days.

i hope its written in the contract ,

he is not allowed to play against us this season.

that is tempting fate

All this fans booing makes a decision is bull shit!

Were talking about premier league footballers here!

I dont think chanting at players / manager is a good thing but Nolans not woke up this morning and thought "thats it, because of last night im leaving Bolton for Newcastle"

These things take time and often unsettle a player

Nolan should not have played last night if this transfer is hanging over his and other players heads

How can you have a 'leader' who is about to leave the club!

and for 4.5million il pay for the axle to strengthen trafs car

Kevin has not played well for two years!

Premier leagues greatest pointer though!

Tara Kev, thanks for the few great times in your many many appearences

i hope its written in the contract ,

he is not allowed to play against us this season.

that is tempting fate

i hope it is

Gay or not, I dont care

if your reading this Kev, dont go

wouldnt blame you if you did like

Gay or not, I dont care

if your reading this Kev, dont go

i fuckin love you

now this is just redic

<_<

xD

well as long as we keep super kev :vava:

your not wrong

it gets over used, but hes a Legend

anyway

if we accept hes going

still think its more likely rovers than newcastle

in fact, we've almost certainly put the word out theres a bid and are exaggerating it to all who'll listen

I suspect Newcastle have moved quickly and out of the blue after their injuries last night. Megson can't think that much of Nolan to agree to it though can he?

End of the day Nolan is a creative, goalscoring midfielder who has done precious little of either for a while now. He has good technical ability but the ship sailed on his fitness a while back I'm afraid.

With the suspicions of dressing room unrest too I'm not so sad to see him go as I would have been 2 year ago.

We obviously need a replacement though, I'd plump for an attacking player myself more than an orthodox midfielder.

Wonderful player in THAT year when he were top scorer, hasn't reached near the height since and that's a shame, hope the lad does well at Newcastle as approaching 10 years at one club is one hell of a feat. Good luck, though TBH I'm not that sad at his departure.

The idiots from last night can now sing.

"Nobby Nobby gives us a wave...."

or kevin nolan your a wanker <_<

Oh good, a song for each half!

I know a Bolton supporter who lives in the North East whose son was the mascot for the league game at Sunderland. He told me that when they were in the dresing room before the game it was Nolan who was giving the team talk. So you are right to be worried. If Nolan does go I wouldn't think Megson was behind it. It is more likely to be Gartside who set it up following an approach from Newcastle.

For me Nolan has been a great servant to the club over the years. But I have become increasingly irritated at his performances in the last 3 years.

He spends most o his time pointing and bollocking the other players, when it has been him to blame.

He has become very good at "looking" busy, but without actually producing any quality.

Having said that, a well established premier league player only attracting ?4.5m is a joke. We signed Muamba (had anyone heard of him before he signed?),

who had played for a team that got relegated for ?5m !!

Surely then Nolan is worth ?7.5m of anybodys money in todays market ?

Anyway, thanks for all you have done and I think a change might be right.

(did this deal just happen today or has it been going on in the background for a bit ? If so, why the hell did he play last night and why was he captain ?)

Also just watched football first from last night and he was bollocking Taylor and another player as they came off at half time. Then in the second half,

the commentator pointed out he was having a "quiet" game.

It's the magic figure: ?4.5m.

Bolton have always found that amount of money irresisitible.

Thompson, McAteer, Curcic and Stubbs all left for very similar amounts IIRC!

Claus Jensen also left for a similar fee
