Arrested development Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It's the magic figure: ?4.5m. Bolton have always found that amount of money irresisitible. Thompson, McAteer, Curcic and Stubbs all left for very similar amounts IIRC! Claus Jensen also left for a similar fee
tylswhite Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Lets face it if hes got nobody lined up to replace Nolan the heat will get turned up immensely by the retard fans so i hope for his sake theres somebody lined up.

To be fair it wont just be the retarded fans going mad if Megson doesnt have a replacement. I for one wont be happy
adambwfc Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Apparently, Newcastle have entered the attempts for Veloso, hopefully we won't be accepting a lower offer so they f off from the deal.
geordieboy Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 not sure how i feel about this, but we are desperate for numbers. we've offered for veloso as well and wigans ryan taylor is due in for a medical tomorrow. love the way we wait until the last few days ot make moves, despite being up the creek for fucking months. veloso wont sign for us in a million years.
Mr Softee Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Nolan will be a big loss. Despite his poor form we always seem to get better results when he plays.
morphus77 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Nolan will be a big loss. Despite his poor form we always seem to get better results when he plays. You took the words right out of my mouth... dont know what he did but we miss him when he doesnt play..
Tyler Durden Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Gutted. Now just watch the boo boys turn and say "What is Megson doing selling our captain?" Wankers.
Guest Biff Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 A change of club might be just what Nolan needs to rediscover his form.
geordieboy Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 A change of club might be just what Nolan needs to rediscover his form. i hope so!
HazzyinBolton Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Doesn't look like Veloso's coming here either. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4868772,00.html "They've made it clear what kind of money they want, & we won't pay that" - Megson today.
Bigtoe Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Legend? If he smoked tabs, drunk beer, picked up slags in Ritzy then stuck in the winner against Grimsby the following afternoon....yep A massive part of our recent success? Most definately We all have some crackin memories because of Nolan But thats all they are now....he's lost goals, his fitness levels arent there, I can't see either suddenly coming back Hes been off his game for a few seasons Its time to move on I wish him well if he goes
Guest pansyroadwhite Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I have to admit i will be very dissapointed if Nolan leaves and nothing happens in the other direction (but i promise i wont call Megson a wanker cause if someone on here calls me a idiot we will need to meet up Saturday before the match to discuss it) sits waiting for a chorus of idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest bwfc devon Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 A change of club might be just what Nolan needs to rediscover his form. I agree, he as served us well i wish him all the best.
Mike Hunt Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 A change of club might be just what Nolan needs to rediscover his form. true, but what worries me more is the number of people more concerned with Nolan rediscovering his form than BWFC being poorer without him and no replacement being lined up wish the lad well and he leaves us with fond memories, but if he is moving on, then I wish him well but don't really want him playing well for one of our relegation rivals. sad day and with all the doom and gloom and abuse, who the feckin hell would want to come to the Reebok?
Guest Blixa Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 You could say the same thing about Newcastle - who would want to go to that car crash right now?
geordieboy Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 You could say the same thing about Newcastle - who would want to go to that car crash right now? have to agree. shocked to fuck if he comes, i knowyou lot think its bad at your place at the min, but you shoud try ours for size.
Spider Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Right decision but wrong time Even with 2/3 new signings I would suggest we need someone like Nolan for the scrap. However, he isn't the same player (aside from jumping backwards into headers) and looks unfit Personally, I think Megson has won a MASSIVE battle in the dressing room and we may just see morale improve Watch this space.....
Guest Blixa Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Has the 'morale' thing ever been anything but paper talk? Don't believe everything you read in the red tops.
BWFC_LOVE Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Whether he's been disappointing by his standards in recent seasons or not, he's still our best midfielder, up there with our most effective players, and I'm devastated. Could and should've been a one club man, if it wasn't for the pricks that get on his back once he's made one bad pass. He loves this club to bits, and I tell you what, we'll miss him when he's gone.
Spider Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Has the 'morale' thing ever been anything but paper talk? Don't believe everything you read in the red tops. It's all guesswork. I don't read redtops as they clash with my cravat. I still have a hunch that a battle of wills has been won by Megson. Not saying it's good or bad, I'm just saying.
Zico Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Could and should've been a one club man, if it wasn't for the pricks that get on his back once he's made one bad pass. seriously come on ok, he's had some sh?t not for sometime as gary has taken centre stage but still, can none of the hard core idiot haters not see that this really has got f?ck all to do with the idiots? looks like everyone is out to blame everyone else for a situation that isn't even that bad nolan has been breathing out of his arse and pointing for some time now I'm surprised we got offered ?4.5M to be honest it's a good deal the club accepted the bid and not because some people boo'd him a while back
