Good luck to 'Nobby', he served us well, the bo boys have got their wish, be honest, would you stay and keep getting abuse week in week out?

Ah well, onwards and upwards

Come on you Whites.

Megson predicted that a couple of clubs will implode and its important that we aren't one of them.

Over the last 24 hours I think we are now on the verge of doing just that - self destructing.

From the idiots chanting at Megson

To Megson slating the fans

and now the probable sale of our captain to relegation rivals for peanuts in today's market

It won't surprise me either if we find out that Nolan stayed behind last week because the Newcastle bid was known but we had to wait until we signed M Davies. I fully expect that he is seen as Nolan's replacement.

Nolan apparently stayed behind for some minor ankle surgery.

Do you buy that?

Do you buy that?

I think the club paid rather than Traf.

Has the BUPA policy lapsed?

Do you buy that?

Well, he has played like a cripple recently.

but still, can none of the hard core idiot haters not see that this really has got f?ck all to do with the idiots?

Those pesky idiot haters are always blaming the idiots when things go badly.

Fickle creeatures most of the idiot haters.

Can't they see they are tearing this club apart by not pulling together?

Question is... is Nolan leaving cos of the idiots or the winge-ing idiot haters?

Perhaps he's just interested in joining a bigger club like Big Sam was?

We're all forgetting a very important element here.

Who will be the new President of the Junior Whites if Kev leaves?

I reckon it should be brixton: he goes to all the meetings.

He'll not have been happy about missing the p?ss up in Dubai then....

Stunned with this. We have always been a better team when Nobby has been on the pitch no matter what anyone says about his pointing; weight etc.

A bad feeling that the manager is clearing out old stock.

Remeber when we sold Curcic, there was upraor, however we came back as a better team for it.

Can't say I'm surprised he's going, but he will be a legend in my eyes for the goals he scored in the wins at Man Yoo.

I hope Megson won't be far behind him either....

lets assume you are right.

i assume you can see how the booers may have affected his performance ?

his value to us is directly related to how well he plays.

therefore the amount we want for him has gone down because of the booers.

i hope people are proud very proud.

not aimed at you cwp but there are cunts who support bolton

I'm not one for condoning booing but there's a huge flaw in your cause and effect theory; Nolan has been playing poorly well prior to any booing.

And I don't agree with booing in games

What the sh?tting hell is 4.5 million going to get us?

not happy

Well Garpo, that really is the salient part to all of this.

Nolan did some great things for the club in the past, but if the ?4.5m contributes towards or accounts for something or someone that has a more positive effect than Nolan has been recently then well done Megson and the board.

If not, then they have made a mistake...but that's why they are in the positions they are in.

Take the sentiment out of it and we'll only know if the decision has been correct post the January transfer window.

I'll reserve judgement on this for now.

Mixed feeling about this personally. Kevin Nolan has been part of our club for over a decade and is Bolton through and through. He wears his heart on his sleeve and despite what everybody says, without him in our team we are not as good.

But on the other hand ?4.5m for a player who's not been on form for a long time now, has a turning circle the same size as a double decker bus, and plays like he has lead in his boots. You have to snap their hands off for ?4.5m

Overall, with the size of our squad, we cannot afford to sell him. That is unless, we will be using the funds to buy somebody better in this transfer window. All i can think is that the additional money sporting want, the funds we get from Newcastle will be used for this deal.

Good luck in the future Nobby. BWFC Legend.

We get back to the ingredients of what makes a LEGEND.

Playing 300+ games for your one and only club in this player power era is a very strong one.

Scoring some memorable and quality goals along the way is another.

Being captain of the club from such a young age during one of the most over-achieving periods in the clubs history is another.

But for me, there is something missing. Is it his lack of all round quality, his current form, his lack of creative input of late.

I wish him all the best and it will be strange to see him in any other shirt than ours but the time is right for him to move on. We need to move on and Nolan needs the move to get his career restarted.

Finally, for me though Nolan does not cut it as a BWFC Legend.

sensible post that jules :good:

I might be getting all this wrong, but how has the "booing" forced him out?

Was he boo'ed on Wednesday? What other games has he been boo'ed at?

If booing makes a player leave, whats nicky hunt still doing here? He's booed aswell according to some folk.

Anyone know when he was last boo'ed?

i read elsewhere nolan is only 26 is this right ? thougth he was older.

given he has been in and around the team since his teenage years it is inevitable at some point his form would slump.

my point is that the 'fans' getting on his back ,which they have, can only make this slump lionger and deeper.

i think the move will be good for him and therefore good for newcastle i fail to see how helping a rival team out is worth the risk.

whatever people think of him he has been a regular in the first team, we have a very small squad and losing a player who can conribute to the first team worries me.

he has also always conducted himself very well arround the fans.

i think we will miss him more than people realise. for me this is a sign of megson wanting to get rid of the old guard, which if it works is fair enough, but i would like to see some quality signings first.

my question jules....if we sell nolan are we more or less likely to stay up ?

i know you may argue 'depends what we do with the money' but given we already had money available according to gartside i am not sure what good can come from selling him.

Nolan was booed on his last game at the Reebok, until he saw it coming and applauded the fans giving the 'non-idiots' chance to voice their support for him.

i now fear BWFC - Nolan = relegation.

i wouldnt buy nolan for 4.5m

but i wouldnt sell him for that either.

does that make sense?

IMO he's worth much more than ?4.5m to bolton but to another club I'd say that's about right

It does make sense.I don't agree though and would sell him for ?4.5 million.

He misplaced a pass part way through the first half. People were getting on his back then. Fortunately not more than one or two people at a time so largely inaudible. And then the eejits started their Megson's a wanker chants and KN was pretty much forgotten.

I don't know. Does he get a game in the reserves? He's certainly played little art in first team games this season. I'd say, to answer your question though, last time he was booed (by some) would probably be last time he played in the first team.
