Ani Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 heard his comments after the game ................ 1 he acknowledged labelling all the fans as idiots was wrong and apologised to the others 2 he said that he would never apologise to those who were slagging him 3 he said tony kelly had been in and told the players a lot of fans were frustrated by the booing 4 he has sat down with the senior pros and and they are saying there is a good spirit at the club 5 he talked about how we need to be together at thre moment (he said united but i forgive him that slip) the spirit shown by the team today tends to prove the points about the spirit. i was as annoyed as anyone by his comments last week, however he should be judged by resu;ts on the pitch and whatever has gone on behind the scenes it seems there was a positive reaction. hopefully the fans will react to this in the same way.........i will who else is in ?

Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 The reaction of the players at the final whistle said it all for me- it meant a lot to them which meant a lot to me. If the highlights show it, watch Muamba at the final whistle.

I saw Muamba's reaction, he was punching the air, dancing and generally going mental

That'll have been because the first Spurs goal was his fault. Another poor ball. One of many again today. But good to see all the players showing what it meant to them. Whats the new celebration all about? Taylor at Blackburn and Davies first today.
Totty Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 i cant wait for redknaps comments - i truly hate that smarmy cockney twat!
athywhite1958 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Kevin Davies today epitomised the true spirit of BWFC today when celebrating his goals, you could see he really meant that emotion, as did the majority of fans, so come on- get off their backs - you know who you are.

LHBWFC Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Proud of the boys today. You ould clearly see it meant alot to them, Stiensson, Cahill, Davies, Muamba... GET F*CKING IN THERE!!!! Bring on the horrible scouse tw*ats
trigger Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 i'm filling up reading all this stuff, love it! SKD loved it when he scored, belting his captains arm band, crackin!

Yeah hopefully Blackburn will prove to be a watershed End of the day it's 4 points from 2 games, it's a good return. And though it's far far far too early to go overboard about it his signings seem to have been decent again this window
Garrp Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Sorry, im totally at the other end of the scale? To soon to judge, give him time etc im sorry, but im happy with what he is doing, im more than happy. ffs, spurs have spent how much and are below us i do wonder what it is megson has to achieve for him to be accepted.

I will put aside some doubts and concentrate on the positives and get behind him. I can see what he is trying to do re team building and the type of mostly younger players he is bringing in plus I was disgusted by the personal abuse at Blackburn. P.S. Just as I was feeling positive I see on Sky Text a letter from one of the 'idiots'. Apparently it's Megson's fault Nolan(one of our best players according to this guy) was sold and he is undoing all Big Sam's good work.(No mention of repairing 'Little Sam's work) Unbelievable.
YATESY Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Tony Kelly has probably earned his salary with his input this week.
george Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 Yeah hopefully Blackburn will prove to be a watershed End of the day it's 4 points from 2 games, it's a good return. And though it's far far far too early to go overboard about it his signings seem to have been decent again this window I agree. Davies looks to be the sort of player our midfield has needed since Meggo took over. And Puygrenier/Cahill has the potential to be a PL standard centre back pairing. Not had that for a while. After some awful, negative team selections earlier in the season i was a bit concerned Meggo had picked TOO attacking a side with Gardner and Davies in a 4 man midfield.Thankfully fortune favoured the brave today.
tyldesley_white Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Tony Kelly has probably earned his salary with his input this week. I can remember the time that he used to get a fair amount of abuse too, Emerly at Huddersfield In FA cup for example, it nearly came to blows that day I can tell you
MickyD Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Aye, remember the Emley game. He stuck two fingers up at the boo boys and got applauded for it. It was his turning point. Same thing happened on Wednesday with GM and he gets more abuse for it. Kelly gave a heartfelt tears-in-your-eyes speech at the end of Fanzone yesterday. Good man!

Good man! was that kelly ? i heard the speech did nt think it was him though. some people left before the end of the speech !!
Electric Gretar Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 was that kelly ? i heard the speech did nt think it was him though. some people left before the end of the speech !! Zico did, then about half hour later, that guy who does the team news from Tower also had his say on the weeks events for about 5 minutes too.
Ani Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Zico did, then about half hour later, that guy who does the team news from Tower also had his say on the weeks events for about 5 minutes too. we were quite late so missed Mr Kelly, the guy who spoke at the end was OK but bar was shut so everyone was off. In future they should do thta rather than worry about the end of the game on telly.

Same thing happened on Wednesday with GM and he gets more abuse for it. Tricky Trevor Morgan did it in front of the Paddock too. He became a bit of a cult figure after that; folk came out in his defence and supported him. Bizarre really, because he actually was shite.

Hehe, cunning bast?rd, I might try that at 5-a-side this week
desperado Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Zico did, then about half hour later, that guy who does the team news from Tower also had his say on the weeks events for about 5 minutes too. He did well with that passionate plea of support for his beloved team. I risk ridicule with this, but sod it, I would like to give Megson some vocal support. The Ginger Mourinhio chants, while they started off as a tongue in cheek compliment to our manager is now considered an embarrassment, the Megson give us a wave after recent events faces a similar fate. So is it enough to just simply get behind the team and show positive support whenever we can, or does he deserve some personal vocal backing?
