Guest as Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Some hypocritical comments from all over about Barton. None of us lot have ever punched anyone ???? Had a drink ????? Got a bit physical in a physical game ?? The challenge on Alonso was not even that bad, had it been anyone else, it would have got half the coverage. A decent player that would withough doubt improve most Prem squads. Kevin Nolan's challenge and Anichebe was easily worse than Bartons. You wanna read the Megson threads, EVERYONE on here slated the bloke, now the chosen few and their bummers gang up on anyone who dares to defy them King Kev puts in harder tackles every game....
Pablo Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Yes KN's challenge was bad. Barton is a great player. Not a dirty fucker at all. Misunderstood. Blah blah Blah. Would you want him in your team? Yes. I would have him in our squad, he would be nothing more than a squad player. We had Duncan Ferguson didn't we!!
THunter Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 So far Barton has: Stubbed out a cigar in the eye of youth team player on a night out. Run over a Liverpool fan in his car (some might consider this a point in his favour) Been sent home from a tour of Thailand for attacking a 15 year old Everton fan Served time for attacking a 16 year old ? and may still face civil action Attacked and injured a team mate in training ? for which he still has a suspended sentence hanging over him. Anyone who wants to sign this piece of shit is a member of the PC bed wetting brigade who believe that everyone is entitled to a second chance. And a third and a fourth and a fifth?

Breightmet Boy Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I noticed Barton did a sliding tackle in the first half which was similar to the sending off offence. I think the Ref may have taken this into consideraton and sent him off because Shearer failed to see how clumsy and firery Barton was first time around. A high two footed challenge = sending off for me. Infact it reminds me of when Viduka went to get himself sent of when we relegated Leeds

Do you actually read the posts? If so, you've drawn a completely different conclusion to the one I have. You are right about SKD though, God bless him.
superjohnmcginlay Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 when we relegated Leeds How good does that sound
YATESY Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 If the price is right then I would be tempted to have a punt on Barton. Somebody will and sooner or later that gamble will pay off.
Carlos Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 You wanna read the Megson threads, EVERYONE on here slated the bloke, now the chosen few and their bummers gang up on anyone who dares to defy them I'm struggling with why you ever wanted come back on here.
Traf Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I'm struggling with why you ever wanted come back on here. Likewise. Come on bummers, let's gang up on AS.

Infact it reminds me of when Viduka went to get himself sent of when we relegated Leeds Perhaps the ref should have booked him for the first one and stamped some form of authority on the game? The match got more and more tetchy as tiome went on and Barton ended up carrying the can for the ref letting too many iffy tackles go unpunished. PS When I said i'd rather have Barton than Diouf, didn't mean I said I wanted barton.
no balls Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 PS When I said i'd rather have Barton than Diouf, didn't mean I said I wanted barton. I read like a Gonorrhea or Syphilis type scenario!

YATESY Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) From his comments today / yesterday, it looks certain that Megson is considering a bid for Barton in the summer. Newcastle will be desperate to get rid - so a transfer price will not be an issue. Barton will probably appreciate a move back to the NW - so Bolton as a club will not be an issue for the player. Surely Barton knows he is in last chance saloon - so a cut in wages will probably not be an issue. It comes down to, which other clubs may come in for Barton that he fancies more than Bolton. Better get used to the idea folks, there is a pretty good chance that Barton will be playing for us next season. Edited May 8, 2009 by YATESY
Sweep Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Better get used to the idea folks, there is a pretty good chance that Barton will be playing for us next season. I hope he is, I still reckon he'll end up at Blackburn though
clown Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Campo, Hierro, Okocha, Djorkaeff. God we were lucky. Now Barton is on the radar and I shudder to think that he'll put on the shirt. What I personally want is a club that says "There's not a fcuking prayer of that tw@t coming anywhere near our club, I don't care how good a footballer he is". Not giving him a signing on fee out of our coffers. I think there is a silent majority who think the same.

Mounts Kipper Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Dont like him as a person, dont like him as a player, always injured, bad for dressing room morale, face like a a slapped arse fucking scouser, time bomb waiting to go off, would be on reasonably big money, need I go on? the man should get nowhere near a club of Bolton Wanderers standing.

I think there's a reason for that I'd have him at Bolton, but with a clause in his contract that at the slightest hint of trouble he's binned or on a pay as you play-type deal or summat to that effect
frank_spencer Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) for free or a nominal fee then yes i'd have him he's a very good player when fit/out of jail/not suspended most city fans i know would have him back. Plus he's managed to keep his nose clean since he left citeh, his red card at the weekend was nowhere near as bad as is being made out by the meeja all because 'Joey Barton in nautghy antics' stories made good press Edited May 8, 2009 by frank_spencer
Casino Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 dislike him witha passion but beggars can't be choosers if fit, behaving and wanting to play, he'd improve us, a lot
DeanoH Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 dislike him witha passion but beggars can't be choosers if fit, behaving and wanting to play, he'd improve us, a lot Blimey Casino, i thought we had a great midfield under Megson, you don't paint a rosy picture like you normally do.
Rembrandt Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Apparently he told Shearer he was a 'Shit Manager with Shit Tactics'. Good lad Joey! still love his comment on the England players bringing out auto bigraphies And people think Megson wants to sign him ?? OK, couldn't resist that one. Well, I thought it was funny ......
