Take Hunt Off Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Just to play devil's advocate, why did we offer money for Bodde the other week if that was the case? Maybe when we made the initial bid we hadnt wasted ?4 million on Zat Knight or spent ?2 million on Rickets so at that stage there was money in the kity.
Guest Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Who would he replace in midfield? Or....Megson consigns him to the bench?
WiganWanderer Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I admit when he went I shed no tears, glad to have him back, make him captain! he will be buzzin! Megson said he had nothing to do with his transfer,
Guest Firthy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I'd have him back no problem. But then, I was one of the vast minority to be gutted when he left.
no balls Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I hope if it is true we're not going to be paying him 45k a week.
MickyD Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I admit when he went I shed no tears, glad to have him back, make him captain! he will be buzzin! Megson said he had nothing to do with his transfer, And we all know Megson tells the truth, the whole truth, blah, blah de blah! He won't ever say he fired Nolan off to Newcastle for having a different opinion than him is he?
John Thomas Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I hope it comes off, i think i'm warming to our Gary.
Guest Firthy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I hope if it is true we're not going to be paying him 45k a week. Who cares what he's on? If he comes back and does a job, why should we fans care about the financial side of it?
HR Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Panic? Run out of ideas? (!) This is what it screams to me. When he was sold most peoples opinions were that it was in the best interests of all concerned if we moved on. Have we moved on since then, what strategy is behind our plans for the season, or are we going from one rejection to another until we have come full circle? I guess Newcastle still owe us money for Nolan which may make this attractive to all, at the back end of last season I think he had lost a bit of timber and looked sharper than for the last few years. I would have him back, I couldnt stand to see McCann Davis and Muamba in the same midfield again 'squeezing out' posession, would much rather see a screaming pointing Nolan up the pitch yds behind the pace.
offside Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I heard it on sports news on 5 Live earlier, must admit I did hope I had heard it wrong and we were in for Coleen Nolan
Big E Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Who cares what he's on? If he comes back and does a job, why should we fans care about the financial side of it? because a club our size cannot afford to pay multiple players silly money
no balls Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Who cares what he's on? If he comes back and does a job, why should we fans care about the financial side of it? Because I don't think he's worth it & it might well upset our already (according ot folk who reckon they're ITK)seemily skew-wiff applecart if it's more than some of our current 'senior' players. None of my business & frankly I don't really care much JSL.
onlyoneawalker Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Just read piece on MEN would appear this is true - if it's the best we can come up with to answer our attacking problems then we are up shit creek - unless McCann Shittu deal is on the verge of going through and it's as replacement for McCann - just like the opening day and dare I say it the last time we were on the look out for a new manager, this transfer window looks like it's gonna end in serious disappointment.
JimmyRiddle Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) this transfer window looks like it's gonna end in serious disappointment. Par for the course supporting the whites!. I reckon Tarrantino got the inspiration for the title of his latest film from the management at our club... Edited August 27, 2009 by JimmyRiddle
tylswhite Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I got a text last night off my usual source saying Nolan could be coming back on loan. I thought it was a piss take so i didnt post it Looks like this season is gonna be even harder than last season if we are going back for players like Nolan. Weve got enough one paced chuggers as it is
HomerJay Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 In other words his man management skills are poor BOLLOCKS it a member of staff is twat, you get rid!
The Norpig Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) Agent Nolan has done his job of getting Newcastle relegated, got himself trim & looks fitter. Also looks to have regained his hunger. If McCann is going then he will be a good replacement. Nolan is a wanderer. Edited August 27, 2009 by The Norpig
onlyoneawalker Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Hopefully Browny will get wind and take him to Hull if Newcastle are prepared to let him go. The fact our manager has even entertained this idea let alone gone public on it beggars belief it really does, I'm starting to get seriously paranoid that we are in the fast lane heading for fuckedsville!
Piemon Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 My Dad swears by the motto 'Never go back' it never works out for that reason alone iamout
Its all White Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Just heard Megson on radio confirming that he has approched Newcastle to bring Nolan back on loan for rest of season, waiting for answer!!!
whiteboy Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 if we get him back on loan, or for a fraction of the fee we got, it's certainly not a 'bad' sigining, but it ain't the solution either... i just hope megson has an idea with what he's going to do with him, cos he certainly didn't get the best out of him while he played under him before megson's looking a bit limited in the transfer department now to be honest
glossopWANDERER Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 how many games have we won since we sold him? i would have him back personaly but what do i no
maje Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 justs on ssn newcastle not interested in loaning him back to us. obviously things can change but looks like a no go at moment. stoke have offered 5 million for tuncay, surely we should be in at this price if we have offered 7 million for others????
JimmyRiddle Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 how many games have we won since we sold him? Good argument?? Nolan has never been the same since JJ left as he is to limited to cope with being the main midfielder the opposition target. If we had bought another creative midfielder and released McCann they maybe he could do a job, but to slot straight back in to a similar team seems a retrograde step to me..
