Klasnic Signs New Deal

From Nixon great news if true for me :good: , and Nixon has been correct a lot about Owen Coyle and who he wants. I'd rather Klasnic back then have someone like Nugent.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is ready to bring back Ivan Klasnic for a second spell at the club in a cut-price move from French side Nantes.

Coyle hopes to tie up a deal today for the Croatian international who was a big hit with the fans last season despite being in and out of his side.

Klasnic is keen to return to the Reebok and chairman Phil Gartside is trying to hammer out terms with him and Nantes because Bolton do not want to take on his ?3 million-a-year salary.

Nantes are in financial trouble and need to offload Klasnic because they cannot afford to pay him. All of the parties are working on a compromise deal.

Tidy :good:

Glad we have signed him - it gives us more options up front.

Apparantly he was at the Reebok at the weekend but his wage demands are too high , he is now effectively touting himself about

trying to get another prem club to stump up ?60k a week , given that Petrov is on ?30k a week & is a player of similar pedigree

I think we should move on.........

fair enough but you should have said that yesterday ........my info was obviously duff nevertherless I'm more than

happy with Klasnic signing

Very happy with signing Klasnic! If (and it's a big if) he can stay fit for most of the season then IMO he will get 15-20 goals.

With it looking like we're getting this Eaves, a bit of a 'one for the future' pacey unknown striker, plus strong talk about Cleverly coming. Just a centre back to add to that and I think it will have been an extremely impressive transfer window.

I dunno how much Villa are asking for Curtis Davies, but he would be another good signing IMO. Youngish, transfer listed, highly rated before his injury and a point to prove. 3 Decent centre backs, and O'brien as the 4th and we look strong in most areas :good:

Can't wait for this season to start :yahoo:

442 it is then

good signing.

Good signing yes

Still not sure if OC will play a 4-4-2

It could be the beginning of the end for K Davies...of course it could mean nothing of the sort

If we do play a 4-4-2mand it includes Petrov and Chungy out wide I'd certainly worry about other players being pulled out of position

Will be very, very interesting to see his 1st choice team

It's the most exciting and intriguing pre-season I can remember regarding how we'll start the season since we played Fulham away with a glut of new players not knowing what was gonna happen and we got spanked

Fantastic :yahoo:

Not my choice of strikers to sign when last season ended, but a good signing now - given who we've been linked with during the summer.

Still a bit concerned about his fitness and the general lack of pace up front, but re-building seems to have started nicely with a mix of skilled experience and (hopefully) some younger players such as Alonso.

I don't think this is a 'oh better than nothing I suppose' signing. OC and the lads know how he ticks and shouldn't take months of settling in like most new strikers do.

The writting was on the wall when he termindated his contract with Nantes the other day.

crackin signing imo , consider who we have been linked with and take a look at the 12 or so clubs that will be around us in the league and the signings they have made , methinks coyle has played well this summer . like somebody has said previously , it will be very interesting to see the starting xi next week , looking forward to it .

the team showed some sparks last season, with experience such as Petrov and Klasnic, (Petrovs been playing great in Friendlies and seems happy just to play football ), hopefully Coyles built on the differences he sparked last season, and we will see a big difference..

The friendlies have brought out some good results and hopefully built a lot of club morale. I'm expecting good things from Zat Knight this season too !!

Happy days ! options options options . He s also bin playing Petrov behind the strikers in pre season so cant wait to see how we line up against Fulham . COYWM :yahoo:

Very impressed with this signing and wit OC in transfer market in general roll on top 10.

he has signed 3 players. 2 of which he knew very well anyway.

the sammy lee pre season was a bit the same too

prob more false hope than owt else

terrific to have him back full time - Coyle has played a blinder in sitting and waiting to get him for no fee (or a reduced signing on fee) and clearly Klasnic wants to come and play for BWFC - also let's not forget who picked up Klasnic a certain Mr Megson credit where it's due on that one (and I detest Gary Megson more than most) - get the young lad Eaves in hopefully Cleverly or Wilshere (unlikely) and another centre half and i am well happy with that.

That's not what I meant to say. I rate Klasnic more highly than that.

Simply that when last season ended, I wanted a striker (or two) who could play 90 minutes each game and with some pace & strength up front. That's when I thought we had some funds. In the circumstances as we now understand them, he's a good signing. Just not what I wanted last May.

forgot about alonso.

That may be true but I'd have been a lot happier if he'd had a month of pre-season work instead of a week, especially as there were questions raised about his fitness levels last season.

Still pleased he's coming back, mind.

Will he not have been partaking in Nantes pre-season work out?

As the French start this weekend he'll be pretty sharp IMO.

i read somewere that he'd been preseason training with nantes in germany.

It's possible, though he didn't strip particularly fit last season and he'd been playing games for them then.

We'll see, I suppose.

Excellent signing. Good job by Coyle. We've really missed a natural goal scorer, poacher type who will have a go at anything.
