Recent Filums I've Watched

Book of Eli - Denzel Washington - took two attempts to watch it all the way through - a bit of a duff Mad Max type film. Watchable. 4/10

Green Zone - Matt Damon - enjoyed it, always like films based out in Middle East, etc. 7/10

Planet 51 - was enjoying it til I nodded off, kids liked it - must be good. 6/10

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - see above - 6/10

Good Will Hunting - Matt Damon/Robin Williams - look, there was fook all else on this Saturday just gone, never seen it before - quite enjoyed - the scene were Robin Williams was going on about his late wife farting in bed had me in tears - half decent. Oh, and Minnie Driver looked far better than I can ever remember. 7/10

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - its Swedish so no famous actors/actresses - great thriller - didn't bother me that it was in subtitles great revenge scene on the pervy Probation Officer- looking forward to the 2nd in the trilogy in the next week or so - well worth the watch and highly recommended. 9/10

That's me, Jonathan Woss, over and out.

Since when did Parking Patawayo become a big movie star?

Samuel is just pissed off now he's found out he didn't have to 'live' those early crackhead roles he played.

If he didn't refrain from using such obscenities toward me in real life I'd be forced to thrash him.

I don't know what the big deal is, he's an artist voicing an opinion on his chosen art...I'll bet the British actors, if they're pleased with their performances, couldn't give less of a fuck.

Aye, I was hoping they would go down the origins of the alien and those engineer folk route but it does look like they're going more 'creature feature'.

That bit of all the dead bodies looked interesting though . . .

There's supposed to be two more Prometheus films to complete the "origin" story.

Well definitely one more after AC but I don't think any after that have been confirmed - other than ALIEN 5 which is Bloemkamp's, not Ridley's baby.

My guess is they're waiting to see how how AC does before committing although I read t'other day that production for AC2 will start next year - script etc done!

I read yesterday that the engineer folk didn't make the xeno - which is intriguing!  If it turns out to be the robot though I'll be pissed!

War Dogs 8/10

Kong 6/10

Moonlight. Slow, ponderous, very arty and a crap ending. As previously stated, it ticked all the political boxes for the Oscar best picture. Wife liked it but it was a big no for me. 2/10.

Went watching Kong at cinema, it was worth splashing the cash to do that rather than on the box.

Couple of hours raced by, few dull moments and just about got away with it

Imperium - about an FBI agent who infiltrates skin heads in the US to stop a terrorist plot. Got Daniel Radcliffe as the lead. He does a stellar job as a member of the far far right. Clocks in at just under 2hrs but kept me gripped throughout. 9/10.

Imperium. As post above, good. 7/10.

Black Mass. Based on true story of Boston Crime lord James "Whitey" Bulger. Very good. 8/10.

Logan was very good last night.

Patrick Stewart was excellent as was they girl they cast as X-23

I finally watched this last night.

Excellent movie. Probably my favourite X-Men movie to date.

There was definitely a lot of dust getting in my eyes though watching Patrick Stewart's performance.

Collateral Beauty. 9.5/10.

If you enjoyed Will Smith in Seven Pounds then you will like this. Many heavyweight actors contribute to a decent plot that does not end the way I expected.

PS. Wifey is still in tears 30 mins after the end!

Rogue One has leaked. Enjoyed it even more than on the big screen

Finally watched Kong.

Simple straightforward story, but done well.

Post-credit scene setting up movie tie-ins if folk are into that kind of thing.

Split. Good premise, but bad film.

Split. Good premise, but bad film.

I really enjoyed it. The protagonist should have won an Oscar. When you put the ending in context I really enjoyed it more.

Lego Batman drops 23rd, hardcoded

Nocturnal Animals. 8/10. Excellent!

Saw it last neet.  Not bad and some very tense scenes but thought the ending was a bit, well, obvious?

I probably missed something very obvious though.

Lego Batman drops 23rd, hardcoded

Are they any good?  I love animation but CGI doesn't do it for me - they get rave reviews though . . .

Yeah it's very in-joke heavy but fun even if you're not a solid Batfan

anything worth a watch from the new films from the last couple of months?

See above.

Watched Logan, very good I thought.
