Full match 2004/05

Another classic against the strangest rivalry in football ...

our new signing scoring 2 against us.

No recollection of that game, but then again, I haven't for many.

nor have I

One of very few home games (in fact I can’t think of any others) where I could have made it but chose to watch in the pub instead.

Can only think it was a ticket price thing as I didn’t have a season ticket during that spell.

because it was under Megson?

whilst racking my brains on this game, I found the BBC match report

Can’t rule it out. Quick Google suggests it was £27 in NSL which equates to £44 these days so probably figured the ticket money was better spent on 10 pints.

The Big match on ITV4 this weekend was our game away at Chelsea in 1975.  What a shithole Stamford Bridge was in those days, shocking pitch too.  Surprisingly some awful bits of play by the two Peters, Reid and Thompson but what a player Alan Waldron looked like.

FULL MATCH ....

20 years to the day since perhaps the greatest ever smash and grab

Alan Waldron was a great prospect. He never really got over his broken leg v Blackpool. Him & Reid was going to be a great combination.
