April 30, 201412 yr why do bolton fans choose chorley then?? lots of other options thats why its the same In most cases Bolton fans have been watching Chorley for years, they are Chorley based Wanderers fans, quite a few of them. When Bolton are away and Chorley at home there are loads of kids watching with Bolton tops on. Not just Bolton. Preston, Wigan, Blackburn too. I landed at a Chorley match fours years ago, it was the week before the league season started, I needed to get my dad out of the house, it was a toss up between a Rochdale & Chorley, the train to Chorley was the next one in. First impressions was, bar, cheap, no mither and football not too bad. Plus I couldn't believe the number of people I knew from all my years following Bolton. Yeh we hit lucky in being there just as Flitty started, something that really pissed Biff off. The following weeks in between Bolton home games we went to Accy, Macclesfield then returned to Chorley, my dad liked it. As we got to the end of the season we where going to more away matches and TBH we felt that a day out watching non-league was better then sitting in Reebok. Last season we started going to more grounds like Glossop, Rammy Untd and Annan. Next season we are going to do more ground hopping including Europe which will be at the expense of quite a few Chorley games. One thing I've noticed this season is how much people have/are enjoying life in the Championship watching Bolton, I don't mean the actually match but the whole day out, you can see this on the Huddlesfield away thread. Maybe its the Premier league? probably was in our case. Like I've said before, each to there own. I'll never tell anybody what to do or knock them for watching Bolton (I've done it in all divisions) all I say is give it a go. Ask Fester, he couldn't understand why where watching Chorley four years ago, came to one match and that was it. He goes all over now, Rammy, Racliffe Boro etc. Edited April 30, 201412 yr by C86

April 30, 201412 yr Since when did a mustachioed Gary Barlow moonlight as a Chorley player? Andy Teague, growing it until promotion apparently. He'll take us to the football league, Andy, Andy Teague.
April 30, 201412 yr He started growing it and said he'd shave it off when Chorley won promotion, I think he shaved it off on Sat night after the Buxton match and raised £700 for Charity, Mencap I think.
April 30, 201412 yr I played for Athy Colls for 5 years from 17 - 22 year old, I just fell out with pro football, I still go to some away games for a day out, I still go on England trips purely for the trips, the 'don't lose at any cost' and blatant cheating mentality of [a lot of] pro players made me disheartened and angry so I stay away [but I'm going on Saturday for a day out on the piss]

Seemed to impress when he was managing at LR last season so hopefully he can kick things on and finally get that promotion spot!
