If Bendtner signed for us he would be best striker we have by a country mile and if he started every match would get 10 goals minimum in PL. Too many people beleive he is shit because hes not a fancy

  • fcuk me, for one one who spends so much of their life on this 'ere website...you really don't know fcuk all about the club that some of us of us hold so dear, do you???

unless of course his current 30k a week deal becomes a 60k a week deal, plus a million pound signing on fee, with a 20m release clause.

and then more than likely no one will buy him and he won't play in the Champions League

if he has aspirations I doubt he will sign a new deal

I'm not convinced Cahill can rely on a big club snapping him up for their first-team come next summer.

The big clubs aren't hanging around waiting for him - they're strengthening all the time. Who's to say he'll dislodge whatever top centre-backs those clubs have in 12 months time ?

He might well find himself bench-sitting for much of the time - on a bigger salary, of course.

The lad's got a lot of reckoning up to do. .............

Arsenal won't sign anyone better in their defence in the next 12 months, not if they're not for stumping up for Jageilka or Cahill

Arsenal have just made a ?15 mill bid according to the local Bluenose! For Jagelka not Cahill by the way!

Maybe they've done a clean sheet count

That wouldn't haven taken long.

Liverpool linked this morning according to the Mail.

If this was the case, surely Coyle would wannt a player/cash deal, probably looking at N'Gog?

hmmm, hardly a red hot scoop, is it?

Yet, having lost out to Manchester United for Phil Jones in

June, Dalglish is also searching for a central defender in the mould of

Bolton?s England man Gary Cahill.

You have become a right little transfer whore in the last few days :D

Your not starting to panic are you?

Worried sick mate

You better crack open another bottle of Just for Men

also from Juliette Ferrington, BBC footy bird

"coyle also says #bwfc have had no bids for gary cahill and that there was "no foundation" to the story linking him to #lfc"

That is contradicted on Footybunker.com. They're saying Arsenal have been priced out and are turning their attention to Per Mertesacker, for half the money we want for GC.

now he is a big donkey of a defender.

cant see him fitting into wengers total football philosophy.

I think Cahill would fit in well at Arsenal.

We'll take ?15m and that Oxlade-Chamberlain lad on loan when they sign him.

I agree, Cahill would slot right into Arsenal's defence, perfectly. We could then go on and buy 2 or 3 players with the money but it's the indecision from Arsenal that's holding everything up.

They've watched Cahill 20+ times so obviously rate him and want him but they need to stump up their cash.

Until Cahill is sold, I can't see anything big happening in the transfer market for us.

I hope we knock Arsenal back and persuade G.C. to sigh a contract extension and then sign the strikers and winger we need, that would send the right message out to the fans and if we got the signings right top 7 is definitely on.

I am suprised we have not wheeled this out already to be honest! Even if its just to try and force an hand or two, we should be out there saying we are trying to tie GC down for additional years and removal of the transfer clause

There's no money for signings without GC's departure.

Looks like Scott Dann's on his way to Arsenal, this'll make Cahill going there more unlikely i would think.

This would make sense as Liverpool must sell fringe players and need a centre half.

Depending on the cash part of the deal it could suit all involved.

I think the supposed imminent move of Fabregas could be the catalyst for movement.

This opens Arse up (gag meant) for spending on whomever they do for a centre half, which is v likely.

If it's Cahill so be it

If not, this could be the catalyst for Liverpool to move for Cahill if they want him; knowing they're the only likely suitor left (unless Spurs come back to Market) I think they'd bid fairly low to test our resolve knowing we want rid of him (or so the touting earlier in pre-season would suggest)

Having said that, our stance on Cahill appears to have changed and I think this is due to untealistic expectations previously...I.e. Our board thought there'd be a bidding war and we'd rack up a decent fee if we let it be known we were willing to sell

Interesting times

A well known band in these parts has a lead guitarist who is a scouser. Seems to be well informed and he was telling me last Friday night that Cahill to Anfield is a done deal. The only hold up is negotiation on the value of Ngog.

Make of that what you will but this lad is usually close to the mark with Liverpools wheeling and dealing.

Not seen that much of Ngog as he always seems to have been a bit of a fringe player. Do we reckon he could do a job for us?

From what you lot are hearing up there, does this story have any legs or is this scally on the wrong tram?

I think it makes sense.

Cahill would strengthen Liverpool's back 4.

Dalglish has been given money to spend.

Ngog won't see much 1st team action at Anfield, he's behind Carroll, Suarez & Kuyt.

He scores goals.
