Featured Replies

What's the point in striking if your not going to man the picket lines and make known your personal grievance with the way things are?

I'll turn up for the pie n peas at the do later, it's a bit George n Zippy out there :)

  • The only offensive thing he said in that appearance was that he believes he works for a living.

i thought we knew the 'grievance'

its that what they were told would be the case isn't going to be the case

happened to me a few times in my working life and it will do again

i thought the idea of the strike was to cause disruption, not to 'get the message across'

everybody knows the fcuking message

i thought the idea of the strike was to cause disruption,

It seems like the idea of this strike is for a day of Christmas shopping accoring to a couple of mates I've got who are civil servants.

I'll be in work and any union bod who tries to stop me will get short shrift.

If your going to strike then that's your choice but if you are, why wouldn't you want to join the pickets if you feel strongly enough about it to lose a days pay.

I've heard the binmen ain't working on Saturday to minimise the disruption, that's a first :)

My wish would be for every working/middle class adult to take one day of action to protest at the UK banking system and those who profiteer from their greed, including the corperations who hide behind rocks in so called off shore parts (channel islands/isle of man for example)and get them to pay their bloody taxes.

Sort that and our imigration policies out and we could all take a tax break and retire at a reasonable age.

Best of luck to all on the picket lines.

We could alternatively get those who don't pay taxes at all yet bleed the system as they've never done a day's work in their life to try and contribute. I dislike them more.

Those wankers who work in banking, and those corporations contibute a hell of a lot more.

No, I'm sorry, you've not got my vote.

Id round all those up and ............ well i cant really say on here

The Guardian is the Daily Mail of the left. I'm surprised anyone takes anything that's published in any newspaper these days seriously.

What's your alternative source of news then?

The Uk has always had a percentage of scroungers and dolites through the good times and bad and NB is correct a good overhall of the sick lame and lazy list is well due.But it is the increase in imigration from Europe and beyond has put far to much pressure on our economy.Add a UK banking crisis that has not been dealt with and a corporation taxation system riddled dodges.Thank Christ we didnt join the Euro, but that wont stop our bubble bursting.

How can it possibly be that they're making everyone work longer and longer and longer when there is twenty something percent youth unemployment?

We are so fucked. The shit we're heading for is going to make the recession under Brown look like a fucking Christmas present. The build is of resentment amongst folk as the rich get even richer despite the most palpable failings imaginable is going to be extremely acute.

But hey, we're all in it together.

Because old folk aren't playing ball. They're just not dying anymore the selfish gets.

reduce taxation for small/medium size buisness,simplify/cut red tape and incentivise businesseses to grow. Economy grows, employment grows and so tax take grows. You hike taxes, you stifle entrepreneurship, businesses shrink, they lay off staff, spending goes down, tax take goes down, big money earners leave for monaco (=big tax payers leave), gov will need to borrow more and roll out some previous measures touched upon in this thread (banking /imigration) and hey presto the Uk could get out out of this mess.

anyone who strikes want sacking the fuckin workshy cunts. hope you're all happy especially the teachers forcing folk who want to work to have the day off to look after the kids whilst you catch up xmas shopping and drinking mulled wine.

its your own fault for voting labour, these left wing wankers have opened the borders to anyone and gave them billions to live here, now you are striking against the tories, thick fuckers

Made me smile that.

After 'supporting' their last strike as it was pointed out to me- "It will make your life easier if you don't come in", I returned one day's pay short; only to find the binners snaffling up a Saturday, time 'n half plus bonus to collect the backlog.

Thanks CUNTS- I've just paid your fuckin overtime- fucktards!

Makes my blood boil when I remember this.

Yup!

Can we add brown and Blair to that for spending their way into this shitstorm as well?

Quick question regarding these strikes as I can't find the info....

Does anyone know if they will affect public transport tomorrow?

Thanks

Harold shipman saved us a fortune in pension payments :pardon:

What's your alternative source of news then?

I stopped reading newspapers a couple of years ago. We all know that they are all politically biased and I prefer to have an unbiased opinion on political/economic matters. Most of my news comes from the BBC (even though I think they tend to lean to the left) I also watch the news on other channels to make sure it's a balanced view. I have the BBC news app on my phone and I check it often throughout the day.

basicly thats the diplomatic approch to what i said ?

Just had a long conversation with Mrs. Brno before she starts her night shift about wether to strike or not. Will she listen to the voice of reason (me) or succumb to pressure from the Union and walk out at midnight? She will either be home at 00.30 (and sleep in the spare bed) or 7.30 as usual.

To be fair, she's intelligent enough to make her own mind up but I still don't know what she will do.
