Trade union Unison is taking legal advice over "appalling" comments by Top Gear

presenter Jeremy Clarkson about Wednesday's public sector strike

Referring to striking workers, Mr Clarkson said: "I'd have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families."

:D

When are the bin men catching up with the Wednesday collections Frank?

It'll be on double time, you can bet.

Jeremy Clarkson needs to be reminded that it was probably public sector workers who, in the early part at least, ensured that his pal Hammond survived his jet-car crash a few years ago.

When are the bin men catching up with the Wednesday collections Frank?

By all accounts they're not.

So if your bin was due to be emptied yesterday you'll have to wait til next weeks collection.

It was a joke. For fuck sake! Unison get a fucking grip you pricks!

i especially liked this bit

we are seeking urgent legal advice about what further action we can take against

him and the BBC, and whether or not his comments should be referred to the

police

Saturday for us

It's only a joke if it's funny. Many things have been joked about on here that some don't appreciate.

Yes, he meant it, and let's take him to court. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

He's known for his soundbites, he was asked the question to make one, as are the union bosses. Some of the things they say offend me, should I take them to court, or should I take those to court who were striking yesterday as they made my late back from my lunch hour?

Ridiculous.

Not sure about that - if the head of the TUC called for George Osborne to be hung, drawn and quartered everybody would just laugh it off?

By the way, you're dead right though - taking legal advice is bloody ridiculous.

They should just release a statement saying what an utter bellend he is. And he looks a like a poor man's Brian May and that he has teeth like a derelict graveyard. You know, the sort of childish shit that he specialises in.

I used to like the TUC, those crackers were great.

i really do think that back in the 80's and what used to happen with adams and co during the height of the ira campaign...e.g. they had the video footage but no sound....

can we not do this with these union idiots?

We should do like they did on Eurotrash, play the video but then put comedy voices over the top

Usually some prick with a broad Yorkshire accent.

Oh, hang on, nobody would know the difference.

It's only a joke if it's funny. Many things have been joked about on here that some don't appreciate.

What a crock of shit. Who gets to decide whether its funny or not?

Someone stood freezing their nads off on a picket line (or xmas shopping as the case was for most "strikers") is obviously not going to find it funny where as I thought it was funny and had a wee chuckle.

It was on the one show for fucks sake. Hardly question time.

Seeking legal advice just shows that most unions are run by fucking jobsworths.

It's funny. because for a while now I've been advocating that Jeremy Clarkson should be shot. From a cannon, perhaps.

Can't help but notice how The Sun and the like dedicate pages and pages to Frankie Boyle or Jimmy Carr when they touch a nerve, but are the first to defend or make light of comments like Clarkson's.

I've never known a society to be so sensitive and offended so easily. My wife's just seen the comments for the first time (she's been in bed all day due to her night shift) and burst out laughing. He was asked what he thought about the strikes knowing he would say something controversial and he duly obliged!

It was a joke. For fuck sake! Unison get a fucking grip you pricks!

Yup, synthetic outrage nonsense - they're not really offended, because only the clinically retarded could not realise 'taken outside and shot' is an idiom in the english language, and therefore means you think they're a plank, not that you wish them executed.

It's only a joke if it's funny. Many things have been joked about on here that some don't appreciate.

Don't be a dick. You know as well as everyone its an idiom. The english language is not a piece of literalist computer code.

Given that Clarkson gets his newspaper columns written to order for him in house style; given that his attention seeking shite is spouted with a wearying regularity that is matched only by its vapid predictability; given that he'll be high-fiving his Chipping Norton chums in some over-priced eaterie as we speak....all I can say he was, and still is, a cunt - irrespective of how stupid and gullible the media response to his latest stunt has been.

I've now seen the clip in its entirity. I concede it was a joke for effect because the BBC likes that kind of stuff. As regards Maaarsh; get to fuck!

Missus Swanny works for the council..

she doesnt even have a pension, as 100 quid taken out of a 950 quid wages is a massive chunk and we cant afford it..

BTW in the private sector people are on twice as much but they only hire on temporary contracts
