the corperations who hide behind rocks in so called off shore parts (channel islands/isle of man for example)and get them to pay their bloody taxes.

Sort that and our imigration policies out and we could all take a tax break and retire at a reasonable age.

Must be wonderful to live in a world where you can tax business and therefore people don't need to pay tax.

I stopped reading newspapers a couple of years ago. We all know that they are all politically biased and I prefer to have an unbiased opinion on political/economic matters. Most of my news comes from the BBC (even though I think they tend to lean to the left) I also watch the news on other channels to make sure it's a balanced view. I have the BBC news app on my phone and I check it often throughout the day.

Lean to the left?

Raving loony lefties

Now that is one person who makes my blood boil, dirty leftie commie tree hugger. Works for Liberty something who the fuck pays her wages waste of space that *$?%^?^?%"

I'm not striking but I agree with the sentiment of the strikes.. people have had a contract with the government broken.. I agree there's got to be cutbacks as we.re fucked but this doesn't fill me with any confidence.. I've got no faith in cameron, even less in miliband and clegg has already lied to my face the one time I had the displeasure of meeting him

The strikers, lefties, unions etc. are living in fcuking La La Land.

The simple problem here is that 23.5M of you working in the private sector have to generate the taxes etc. to pay for ridiculously high pensions for the 5.5M working in the public sector.

Enough is enough but of course the loony left want to impose strike losses/higher taxes/penalties etc. on private businesses who generate all of the money for everything.

Someone has to press the reset button and it's always the blue side with the strength and resolve to do it.

Just had a long conversation with Mrs. Brno before she starts her night shift about wether to strike or not. Will she listen to the voice of reason (me) or succumb to pressure from the Union and walk out at midnight? She will either be home at 00.30 (and sleep in the spare bed) or 7.30 as usual. To be fair, she's intelligent enough to make her own mind up but I still don't know what she will do.

Whats the score pal? im on the edge of my seat here.

Only a team of 5 strikers outside my place at the minute.

Seems they've all gone Christmas shopping.

Similar here, we share our building with a govt dept, theyve got 3 massive floors in here, so circa 300-400 people, six people outside when i just walked in. Bothered enough to strike i see but not stand outside.

Got angry reading the paper, 19k a year binman not happy cos he was hoping to retire at 55 and now probably cant. 55, what a joke

They are outside the tax office already with banners saying "Unison- No poverty in retirement"

Bollocks

They were all starting to congregate outside chorley hospital as I drove past. Similar words on their banners. Hey ho though, I'm now in work trying to earn money to put into a private pension.

These union people must piss themselves laughing when they come up with their slogans.

Poverty?

In a civil service pension?

Fucking bollocks.

god i feel liberated....

just hurled a mouthful at the wankers outside bolton hospital

The 5.5m also pay tax.

However....I do not understand what the Unions thibnk can happen here, there is pot of money for pensions, that pot is going to run out.

So you either cut how much is going out or increase how much is going in, to increase how much is going in either just the people getting the benefit pay more or everyone pays more. Given we are in a recession it is in everyones interest to get the economy going this will not happen if we increase tax, people willl have less money so spend less so the recession gets worse. The impact of this is that stock markets perform worse, the same markets that the pension funds are invested in, so you have less in the pot.

Unless I am missing the point.....

The point is the economic crisis was brought about by the banking industry but it is not the banking industry paying the price for it.

I thought it was limited by law that you could only have a maximum of 6 pickets at any site.

I thik six is now the legal max on a picket line. Thatcher changed the law after she had had the miners beaten up.

He's not talking about that. He's talking about a society where the super-rich get away with it whilst the average bloke doesn't. The whole tax haven thing stinks to high heaven.

The point is the economic crisis was brought about by the banking industry but it is not the banking industry paying the price for it.

No it is not. The fact is that the pot to pay pensions is not big enough.

We are where we are today, the strike is today, the pot is running out and to meet the union demands needs to be filled, how do we do it.

Lets blame the banks, everyone who works there gets paid ?0,0000s in bonuses and it is all their fault.

I thought it was limited by law that you could only have a maximum of 6 pickets at any site.

Didnt know that, but the buidling down the street had at least 25 people stood outside

I will donate my 2 private pensions, if it will help.
