Ani Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 1. With a total budget of ?7M? 2. Do you really think he signed N'gog with the intention of not playing him? 3. Plenty of time maybe, but not plenty of money to do it with. 4. Swansea spent more than us on transfer fees this summer. 5. I doubt anyone can force players to stop sulking if that's what they chose to do. They won't be part of the future of the club so why should they care? Once again I can only admire your loyalty to the club and especially OC. I am desperate fro him to do well but he just seems like he has run out of ideas. It is like thinking about having a family pet put down, I just think it will stop his suffering. The signing of Ngog has to be put down to a bad desicion on his behalf. The sudden diappearance from the squad/team of petrov and muamba has not been explained. We are in December and with CYL and Holden injured for the season he should by now know his best team, he does not seem to. He sticks to the 442 system no matter who we are playing or whose names have come out of the hat that day Your point 5 is the most worrying aspect of this, he has to be able to manage egos and attitudes of multi millionaires it seems he can not do this. The fact that people are actually turning on the backroom staff rather than the manager shows the high regard people seem to have for Coyle, i just wish he could do something to lift things, but if he can not do this he is failing in his job, whatever reasons and escuses there maybe our perfromanceas are not good enough and the buck stops with him Quote

I agree. Without team spirit, we are well and truly fucked but there isn't a manager in the league who hasn't tried and failed to deal with stroppy players. They have all the power and if they decide to throw their dummies out of the pram, then there's not much that can be done about it other than getting rid of them and we're not in a position to do that. The sad thing is that there are people on here who seem more inclined to blame the manager than the players for this. Quote
Casino Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 he's signed plenty players he's not playing most of them are we saying, then, that its the ones he's signed who are being a pain in the arse? you'd think not, cos he specifically suggests that its those out of contract in the summer so, why not play them he signed Quote

Perhaps he's sulking. It wouldn't be the first time in his career. Holden and Mears are injured. Eagles plays fairly regularly. Wheater has been given a chance and got himself sent off. Twice. Boyata has only just returned from City. Alonso played against Fulham. Kakuta is obviously kak. Not sure about N'gog. Quote

Zico Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Chairman knows what needs to be done. Long term. U find out about people in a bad time. Eddie Davies and Phil Gartside have shown their character. They know the story. I reckon these two are not far off the actual situation, and why he won't get sacked I also think they have Coyle down as the man to rebuild if we do go down I just get the feeling that no matter what happens, Coyle will be here next season and the odd thing is if/when we do go down, I'd probably rather it were him than say Bruce or Dowie in charge it's just that between now and May is going to be long, drawn out and painful and we all seemingly can see what is coming, which makes it all the worse Quote
marple whites Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The main issue being its a slow death and we aren't even going down with a wimper !! Stoke could be a bit "lively" last game of the season !! Quote
Garrp Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I really don't undersstand this idea that Coyle isn't playing his signings. Petrov is the only one, im sure Coyle will be the first to admit hes got it wrong with Petrov, hence the not playing players who dont care. Name me a manager who hasnt signed a bad player. Quote
Casino Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 he clearly sees wheater as worse than knight ngog behind davies and klasnic tuncay behind erm, steinnson kakuta as useless alonso has finally got in to replace the worst left back on the planet Quote
Garrp Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 he clearly sees wheater as worse than knight ngog behind davies and klasnic tuncay behind erm, steinnson kakuta as useless alonso has finally got in to replace the worst left back on the planet Hes given Wheather chances, hed have kept his place if he didnt get sent off twice. N'gog has been injured. tuncay was signed as a squad player, as was kakuta Alonso has been out injured and has come straight in once fit. Eagles is playing, Reo Choker is playing, pratley is playing, holden would be playing Boyatta has been playing, hes been shit, so is sending him back - ditto kakuta petrov isnt playing, bad signing, poor attitude, not playing, will be gone at the end of the season. so thats petrov, bayotta, kakuta & Tuncay. A freebie and three loans loans. All bad uns in hindsight - no argument there Allardyce and Megson wasted more. Shittu 2 million and 35k wages wasnt it (make you feel sick doesnt it), thats probably not far off Petrov, Bayotta, Kakuta and Tuncay put together. Im not saying hes perfect, far far from it. His signings have been good on the whole though. Especially given his budget. and he is playing the ones who have turned out to be good Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 i think we're agreeing i'd happily play the sulky bugger as one of 5 Then we agree again. I'm not arguing tactically we seem poor! I will argue against folk that think Coyle has had sufficient opportunity to replace the players that have left/injured. Quote

Especially given his budget. and he is playing the ones who have turned out to be good Given the players highlighted not sure his signings have been good, Holden was exceptional, But Megson signed Cahill, so one swallow and all that. Alonso was not playing before he got injured. N'gog is still not playing Bayotta,Tuncay and Kakuta all taking up squad places and finances for very poor returns Pratley is playing but looks terrible, to be fair is that a relfection of the team or him? we needed a box to box player to break forward. Wheater most be the most annoying of the lot 2 really soft sending offs, misses 7 games out of 38, aint good ! I am yet to hear anyone explain why Muamba has been dropped from the squad at times, OC said 'footballing reasons' but there again the idea that FM is the saviour worries me. What frustrates me is that in beating Stoke by 5 it felt like we had system that could work, FM and NRC breaking play up and making us look solid. OK skd had Upson to bully and we had the rub with a couple of goals but in recent games we really look like we have no clue whatsoever Quote
SpiritofBurnden Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 so its not the ones he's signed then He signed Petrov didn't he? Why should the manager be held responsible for their mood swings? As Coyle said after the Fulham game, they're still being paid by BWFC so perhaps they should bear that in mind before downing tools. Mark Hughes binned Petrov at City, when he threw his dummy out of the pram. So either the player is a moody twat, or neither manager knows what they're doing. Quote
