No matter who you have in your defence it's difficult to keep clean sheets in the prem. I know you build from the back but it will be strikers and match winners that keep us up not spending our entire budget on strengthening at the back. Who do we sign at the back that will make us that much tighter without spending shit loads? Attackers for me all the way

It wont be, they have had enough time now to do the deals cant see us getting anyone decent at all now, so fooking dissapointing again but we should have known what was coming.

We're not doing that badly scoring goals. Mid-table. Unfortunately our total against is abysmal. Defence is a definate priority.

Correct. The midfield is now protecting the defence. You could argue that we would be better investing in another muamba type player to give us options should he or NRC get injured.

Look at Blackburn. They'd be flying if they had a good defence.

Agree completely.

It isn't just down to personnel.

It's also how we set up to defend as a team, which is down to coaching.

If we get away with it this year, Coyle needs to get tough and look at his coaching staff.

from what i've read they have only enquired and OC told O'Neil he's part of his plans and not for sale.

Looks like Coyle is serious about getting Zaha.

Can't understand why he keeps going for bloody wingers (Weiss, Kakuta, Rodrigo (that's where he played), this new Japanese from Arsenal, Eagles, Petrov and so on).

 

Would sooner have a striker with a bit of strength/pace or another midfielder who can get stuck in.

 

That's what you need in a relegation battle.
