So do we go 4-5-1 at home to Wigan? Unthinkable really...

451 yes. We can switch to 442 if we arent winning after an hour.

Then lose

We go 451 with a 433 mentality.

It's actually quite fucking simple, even for 11 or so blokes with the combined IQ of a washing up bowl.

Support was brilliant today, until we conceded. Then there was that familiar "oh fuck" atmosphere. We are crying out for someone lively to play in just behind Ngog to make some fucking runs and open up the opposition defence when we're attacking - Tuncay?

The ball gets pushed out to the wingers with ease, yet they've nothing to attack as Ngog is man marked and it's like watching statues as there's no other plan of attack. I lost count how many times Eagles played the ball backwards/sideways - not his fault though .Oh, and I thought Mark Davies was poor - kept falling over the ball. Still, nice half time pastie.

Rickets was fookin awful today, mavies didn't get into the game, why take muamba off

Think Coyle was right to go 4-4-2 but woeful in dragging Muamba off who was by far our best midfielder today, Mark Davies was totally ineffective today and he should of been dragged off, why oh why does Coyle feel fit to drag off Muamba first in virtually every match, baffling.

management by numbers

My observations on today:

Zat Knight is a passenger and a ball watcher - get Ream in asap.

Chris Eagles (not only today) is a greedy tit and has absolutely no end product.

4-5-1 works well - 4-4-2 doesn't.

David N'Gog has a massive weight in his head as he is unable to stay on his feet for more than 3 seconds but his arms goes up very quickly.

Adam Bogdan looked solid on the whole again regardless of his thumble for the second.

Tyrone Mears is better than Dedryk Boyata.

Steve Morison thinks your leg is your hand.

Just got back after a 5 and a half hour drive. Weather was terrible.

Eagles made no overlpping runs on the wing, instead turns inside or passes backwards. No movement forward. Really don't know whats going on here.

Replacing Muamba for SKD... WTF was the reaction.

The team overall had lost their spark.

Going from 4-51 to 4-4-2 was a major fuckup.

The pies were nice.

Our support today was ace.

Hats off to you and everyone else who went today. Overpriced tickets, a mooch and a half and the weather makes you all hero's in my eyes.

Lambert needs subtitles

Knight and Wheater looked half decent on Wed but abysmal today, agreed, Knight was shocking for their first goal. Coyle's beyond belief, never learns from his mistakes, carbon copy of Newcastle game, takes holding player off when we were just getting hold of the game and within no time we've tossed it. We're not good enough at the back and have too many soft arses in the team to play any part of the game without a screen in front of the back four, end of. Clueless,pig-headed or both, whatever it is, if he doesn't learn quick he'll take us down.

Completely agree - Coyle took Muamba off for an attacking option and it cost us like against Newcastle. The thing is we looked at the time the team to go and win but sometimes as boring as it sounds you should settle for a point and try and nick all 3. I believe if we had kept our formation today we wouldn't have lost.

just watched the highlights on motd our defence was all over the place, lost count how many times ricketts got dragged out of postion and sucked into areas in midfield, he was running round like a headless chicken at one point, knight for the 1st goal just stands and watches thats schoolboy football at best, even though bogdan fumbles the ball for the second not one defender reacts to it, terrible defending only one place we are heading if this sort of defending is to continue.

Thought Mears was probably our worst defender today. Ball watching a number of times (Jackson shot across goal first half, Surman for the first goal) but as its his first game I won't write him off yet. Didn't get forward and overlap as much as I had expected either.

Knight wasn't far behind though. Gets caught out of position and then jogs back with no urgency, really winds me up.

Hats off to all that travelled. Bad day at the office, 3 points against Wigan was already a necessity but cannot contemplate anything else now

Only saw last 20 in the pub due to work. Pilkington ran from the penalty spot unchallenged for the 2nd. Free as a bird. Didn't take our chances. 2 shit goals. Got to beat that shite next week now.

I wish Owen would learn that going 4-4-2 isn't always a positive move, we looked much more threatening at 4-5-1.

Just like the Newcastle game we were on for a point, and he blew it by taking the extra man out of midfield.

I think he blew it by taking the wrong man off, should've been m Davies

We had to have a go given they had no CBs on, two forwards getting in the mix with crosses from the wings could and should've caused them problems, if we're going to go 4-4-2 we have to play NRC and muamba in the middle to allow eagles/tuncay and petrov to bomb forward

But it's always muamba who's first to be taken out the middle

Wish Sammy Lee were up in the stand telling him what to do. We didn't have to beat Norwich, a draw would have been a good result. Whatever they aren't they are certainly scrappers and we were just outscrapped in midfield. Taking out best midfield enforcer off was suicide. Reoky Cokey, Eagles, Petrov, Mark Davies in a 4 man midfield, you are just giving them the ball.

first double norwich have done over us since 1971

coyle out

Really disappointed with that result it was a game we needed to take something from.

OC does not seem to be learning that taking Muamba off makes us vulnerable.

The longer it stays 0-0 the more the home team get desperate and leave openings for us to nick it.

Instead we make it easy for them by changing our shape unnecessarily and also taking off our ball winner!

We have just had a good few encouraging performances but it feels back to square one.
