birch-chorley Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Fucking disaster up in Cumbria It was bloody biblical Tried heading out for the footy but got marooned after a river burst its banks - had to abandon ship and ditch the car there Ive left the keys with the cottage owners and got a lift back as the recovery guys are inundated pulling motors out of the drink We got a lady in to do the catering last night, she got back home at midnight to find her house flooded out Never seen weather like it Quote
bwfc87 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Got family and friends in Lancaster/ Morecambe. They're going to be without electricity until Tuesday they reckon. Quote
MancWanderer Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Four and a half bastard hours to get back from Bowness today Never seen owt like it in my 51 years on this planet The car fucking stinks of clutch burn and damp. Absolute chaos on the roads. Seen well over 100 abandoned cars so roads blocked/closed everywhere Felt sorry for folk in Kendal. One road was just a line of houses with hosepipes emptying the water out and soaking carpets and furniture everywhere Quote

That won't go down well with work if it's the case My Brother-In-Law drove though a ford the other year during the floods, the water was too high and he got stuck and it frazzled his car - the insurance did pay out.......his work were less than happy though, especially when he rear-ended somebody in the hire car a few days later Quote

I like cars and therefore they have cost me countless thousands over the years. This way I pay the BIK but don't have to worry about the missus kerbing an alloy or the kids scratching the back of the seats. Quote
birch-chorley Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I was considering going onto the allowance as you can make a few quid out of it if you do it right However, shit like this puts you right off Ring a number, sign your signature and your away - worth its weight in gold Quote
