Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 28 Posted May 28 https://www.earth.com/news/one-large-water-body-on-earth-does-not-touch-land-known-as-the-sargasso-sea/ Have a gander at this. Not just the jet stream, but ocean currents. May have put this on here before, but t'other half (as part of her job) got to see some plan/map thing that highlighted the effect of sea level rise on lancashire. A scary scenario, and the loss of a huge amount of productive land. Presumably, that will be replicated all over the country. Quote
gonzo Posted June 8 Author Posted June 8 https://www.severe-weather.eu/global-weather/first-heatwave-summer-2025-heat-dome-europe-mk/ Big heatwave across Europe is due.... See how many thunderstorms it brings. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 8 Posted June 8 Just went down to a loch to have a go for more trout. Got there and the rain came, and it went cool. Soon stopped, the sun appeared and swarms of midges descended. Moved to a different part that was more exposed and had fewer midges. Then it clouded over again, rained some more, and went windy and bastard freezing. Autumn, Summer and Spring in an hour. Crazy. Quote

Not in Crawley Posted June 13 Posted June 13 (edited) Amazing thunderstorms tonight - one of those just watching it for a few hours, then another baking hot day tomorrow so, does the beach at high tide for a barbecue and a swim. Miss London, but not on weekends in summer. Edited June 13 by Not in Crawley Quote
