Sweep Posted April 30, 2025 Posted April 30, 2025 It's a beauty, far better than the Trevi Fountain and Mannequin Pis statue, I'm going to visit it when I'm next in Blackpool Quote

Thought some of you would like it... fish have some really nasty diseases... imagine what I thought when I switched the light on in the morning and found my favourite fish with a big hole in his head caused by digestive worms eating their way out (they store fat in their forehead) Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 How do the worms get in there in the first place? Quote
Dimron Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 2 hours ago, Tonge moor green jacket said: How do the worms get in there in the first place? I believe they are endemic with the species and if the fish become stressed (say by poor water or diet) the worms will get a hold. I treated this one with a poultry dewormer after my usual treatment had no effect. I suspect there are more than one type of worm, there are a lot of theories out there about this syndrome but no one really knows the answer.... a guy I know has been adding "fluvic acid" to his water. It really is tightrope, these things happen almost overnight, this meme sums it up... Quote
Winchester White Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 Bloody hell, seems like the temperature dropped massively late on this afternoon. Phone saying it's going to be 8 degrees colder tomorrow. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Down to 12 Sunday, but back up to mid teens from Tuesday. Still essentially no rain for the week ahead. Further north and south they're having some, just not here. Quote
tomski Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Crap that the heat seems to be going down every hour for the weekend. I’ll need a coat by tomorrow if it keeps going Quote

BobyBrno Posted May 9, 2025 Posted May 9, 2025 Top end of the Yarrow reservoir. River seems to have dried up so nothing to feed it. No rain forecast as far as I can see. Drought measures soon I would guess. Don’t forget to put a brick in the toilet cistern (if you have an old fashioned one) Quote
